I too wasn't for the War in Iraq, and I don't we will make one change in their way of life. Thats all they know I don't think we should try to make people see our way of life! Like I said as an American I sure as hell don't want any middle eastern trying to force their way on us I didn't agree at all with our use of force but since we are there I will support our Troops. Its sorta like my police Action BS

Good idea about the snowmobile making tracks. Gotta watch though--don't want to veer off the trail going to fast. The soft unpacked areas can easily grab hold of the front tire and throw you off. Did it once and suffered a separated shoulder. DOH! Can never be too safe--and ALWAYS ride with a buddy (on another machine).

Invest in a 12-volt winch mounted on the front or rear of the machine or both. And bring enough wire rope with hooks on each end, a choker strap (tree saver) coiled up to reach the nearest tree--and then some. There's nothing like trying to extracate a stuck machine weighing over 500lb. You'll find a suitable 2000lb. cap. winch cheap on e-bay for about $150. I paid as little as $49 for a 1000 lb. cap. one and $100 for 1500 lb.

StrmChzr; What size planter do you have now? How many acres of what crops do you want to plant? Grain drills are mainly for cerial grains, wheat, oats, rye, barley, etc. Corn planters can plant many other coarse grain crops, corn, soybeans, milo, etc. The only advantege for bigger planters or drills is to complete more acres per hour, the disadvantage is that the bigger they get the more they cost. If you still get warranty and low interest financing, I would say the price sounds pretty good.

Everyone I've ever known that has pre teen kids, gets sick constantly. Their kids bring everything home from school.

Generally thinking, I think the best defense is to not worry about it too much, Everyone I know who uses a lot of antibacterial soap, constanly washes their hands, etc. seem to always get sick. I believe you need a certain level of germ intake to keep the immune system strong.

Most of the people I've worked with in the construction industry over the years seem to be the last to get the latest flavor of flu going around. I chalk it up to eating with dirty hands, shaking dirty hands, grabbing dirty tools and materials, and so on. Those germs make your immune system strong.

The hardest thing on your immune system is constantly cahnging environments, (as well as stress and poor diet). For instance going in and out into the cold and wet from the warm and dry.

Generally, when I'm working hard outdoors a lot, and eating decent, I never get sick. It's during those periods when work is slow, or when I spend lots of time indoors or eat poorly, that I find myself catching the flu.

The shot seems to make no difference either way.

One thing I do notice, is that once my body is in recovery mode (during that period where colds and flus tend to just hang on for a while), that getting out to work and sweating it out, seems to speed the recovery up a lot. I find that going ahead and taking the one to three days off in the beginning when the things gotta run its course, and then jumping right back into some hard physical work (while eating well and taking vitamins), seems to result in the shortest periods of sickness.

I try to avoid taking flu medicine after the first couple days as that seems to prolong things for some reason if I continue to take it.

These are just my own observations over the years from personal experience and talking to others. Everyone I know that works with their hands for living seems to agree with this mentality.

It seems like hard work and good eating is the answer to everything. Keeps you healthy to start with so you avoid getting sick in the first place, and if you do, it goes away fast.

Thanks for all the suggestions! However, nothing has worked. Any other ideas? I am probably going to split the tractor this weekend as a last resort. I have been putting it off because of lack of a shop to work on it and the bad weather. Any more ideas instead of splitting it would be much appreciated. Thanks....

Over ten years ago I spoke to a guy who worked for a design studio for BFGoodrich in conjunction with GM design studios in Warren, MI (Detroit). He said then that 22" inch rims will be common in less than ten years, and he was right. He also said that it will be common for even pickup trucks to have as large as 28" rims from the factory. Again this was ten years ago, but they were experimenting with 32" rims. If you think about it, any of the concept illustrations (drawings) of cars always shows very tall and wide rims with very little tire sidewall. That's not a coincidence.

My buddy spent $2000 on brakes on his '99 Silverado lease truck. He traded it and got a 2002.

A week later I was thumbing through a trade publication for independent auto repair shops. In it was an article for "How to Increase Your Profit". One of the features was GM truck antilock problems. The article poked fun at dealers because they said the fix was a "$48 steering wheel position sensor" located at the base of the steering column. The article decribed every symptom my buddy's truck had.

There is a nice used one for sale if you haven't bought one. 2004 JD 2210 with 210 loader, 54" belly mower, only 75 hours, like new, must sell, $11,500 OBO 717-752-0859 in Gettysburg PA, about 320 miles from you. I saw it in the a paper yesterday, I don't know what is a good price for this item, just thought of it when I saw your post.

After having my Dodge Ram fuel lines freeze up in 2 above temps--and spending 7 hours unthawing it with a topedo heater-- I'm a believer too. I went to Tractor Supply and bought the biggest bottle I could find. I noticed it starts quicker and easier.

some people weld ears in the bucket and pin the plow right in the bucket. Otherwise, you just need to weld up some sort of frame and weld a quick tach plate to one side and ears on the other. I think the plates run around $100. My bobcat's cost $90 a few years back. Make sure you can allow for free floating that is seperate from boom float. The boom float may add too much weight on the plow.

jones, lol yes I know it is pretty simple, eh? well I must be blessed then since I do the same thing with mine and need only 2 sec of "pre-plug", and she fires up within 3 revolutions, even when well below zero.

kicka, yes I have often wondered the same. Years ago I had a mustang and I had to wire up a switch to turn on the in-tank fuel pump manually (no time or money to fix). I ran it like that and would crank her for a few seconds before hitting my switch and could see the oil pressure build before she started. Always seemed like a good idea, I almost kept it that way. Hard on starting system, easy on engines. Was always going to install a "pre-luber" but never did, and they cost $$$. Is this better than the oil pump going full speed ASAP by starting quick? I think so but agree we need a study. Get on that, would you? :)

I load my B6100E and Woods 40" rotary cutter on a 16' flatbed double axle trailer. I tow with a 1984 Chevrolet K10 long bed 4WD truck with a 305 engine. Once I upgrade to a BX23, I'm sure I'll want to (need to) add a brake controller (one trailer axle has brakes).

Tacoma is a little light weight for the task, but just around the 15 mile neighborhood every few weeks shouldn't kill it or wear it out. I normally don't tow more than 15-20 miles.

I have not seen any discusion on foam filled tires, can't find anything by search. Other than cost, what is the disadvantage? I had my front tires filled on a JD 755, it added about 65-70# each,(they weighted 90# each) and no more leaks. I am considering the rears, will add 200# each, but of course the cost is very high.
