Sounds like the base problem might mean a frozen shaft or difflock assy. Many times I have seen where they have set up from not being used.

I have a JD 755 and need to replace several (zerk) grease fittings. Am I correct that they are metric? 7MM hex seems to fit best, what thread, or size do I buy? <br>

I purchased a snowblower for my 2210. It is a single stage - I had ggo luck with this style in the past and don't really have enough to justify the 2-stage.<br>

The unit performs well - took on nearly a foot of new stuff in Central Wisconsin today with ease (even did the neighbors drives!). BUT, when engaged it seems like it very noisy. Is this normal with JD SB? Anyone that can compare 1-stage vs. 2-stage on noise?<br>

I've checked grease zerks - OK. And, the chain is tight. Maybe that's just the way it runs.<br>

The Tacoma won't last many season's if you plan on towing alot. It will probley get you by for a while as long as your travel ways are pretty flat. any type of hills really seem to put it on those trucks when trying to pull a little weight. I think I would get something with a bit more butt. Just my opion.... best of luck.

I load the trailer with the loader, haul and dump. I have moved 50 yards to the back of the property in about 4 hours with the 2 ton dump trailer. Really like the way it works.

To avoid another engine to maintain, I opted for a three point log splitter too.

I don't think there is any big difference in hydraulic flow between my 4115 and your 4100.

Working alone I can split a cord of wood in about 75 minutes. If I had some help it would be significantly faster.

I have never used a free standing/20 GPM splitter, so I can't compare, but I am pleased with the unit I have.

Your 4100 hydraulic flows and pressure are more than adequate for the task.

I hate mice, snakes, bears, 50 cyotes no problem, mice no way. I had a nest on the engine of my duelly, don't know when they found the time to build it or if they rode up there when I used the truck. Found one in my barbecue grill, I turned it on and a mouse ran out like a rocket, stopped about 10 feet away and looked at me like I was crazy. So I didn't use the grill again untill a friend of mine came by with his dog. The dog loves to catch mice. So Matt got the dog over by the grill, he had his head resting on the shelf under the grill, Matt opened the grill, took out the grates and tryed to catch the mouse with his hands while I stood my distance, the mouse ran deeper down in the grill, jumped out the drip tray hole in the bottom, jumped out of the drip tray right into the dogs open mouth to hide. Wasn't the dog surprised and pleased.

If you are mechanical it is not a hard job if you have a good vice.

Biggest problem is the fluids. Have a good pan and work the piston back and forth a few times to push out all or most of the fluid. Then unscrew the cap pull out the piston, remove the nut slide off the seal assembly and replace. Air tools seem to work the best for the inside work. If you can not get the nut loose make sure you wrap the shaft in rags B4 you clamp that in the vise.

Simplest route is to a hyd shop. It's a lot easier and less headache.

That said I do my own. Have one on JD loader with a intermintant leak. It's dry as a bone now and next time I use it and park it might seap. Have the seals just am not in a hurry to repair. Will wait for warm weather and live with the seap for the winter.

Put it in high gear toe the tractor against some thing very sturdy. Push the clutch in and try to start the tractor.

I would go with the model that is on tracks, far better tracion than one on tires. Plus no flats. Buy the way BROKEN did you rob a bank or something,LOL Man I sure would like to have one of those, Far better than the loaders on are tractors.

Last nite we got freezing rain.
just plowed the drive.
It was a combination of snow ice and slush.

The main problem I had on the ice was the front end wanted to go sdieways.

Loading the bucket with snow and raising the fel a little helped when ever it wanted to go sideways.

My manual is the tech manual for JD 655 to 955, 670 to 1070, and 4010 to the 4700.
It doesn't say anything about the service manual. Heck I don't know.

Hi Brokenarrow - yep, NY state college is about $14K total cost a year now and costs go up every year. I give my kids $5K per year - let them take maximum federal loans (in their name) and make them work to get the rest. I also told them they were going to state college unless they got financial aid or scholarships to offset it. My daughter got in Penn State (out-of-state cost for us would have been $20K per year) but I told her she didn't save enough money - so forget it.

My daughter will be graduating with a degree in civil engineering from Buffalo this spring. My son is leaving for college this fall and he is also going to Buffalo. I went to NY state college and went on for more degrees afterwards. (It was only $2K a year back in 1970.) So I think state colleges are just fine.

My daughter wanted a car at college - complained endlessly for the first 2 years. We finally caved in and got her a used Subaru Forrester (She is at Buffalo). She owes us for the money and we made her get her own insurance policy - because these kids all share cars, etc. Well she just got a speeding ticket for 81 mph in a 55 zone and its on her own policy! I didn't have to get angry - she will slow down a bit now I suspect.

You are right. We need money for retirement. If you give your kids too much money for college they end up spending it at restaurants and taking trips to the carribean. Kids today think it is the parents responsibility to give them a great time before they start working. I don't normally watch Dr Phil on TV but I heard him say the other day that, as a parent, it is not your job to be your kid's best friend. Instead it is your job to make sure they have a sense of responsibility and enough pride to earn their own keep.

We had a decent snow here last night (10"), and I found that even on my BX2230 the motor will not bog down even when the snow is piling up in front of the auger (moving faster than it will throw).

I have found that in low range I can go full speed and the blower will keep up with whatever's on the ground. Even up to the top of the auger, at full throttle.

Another tip: when the snow is light and fluffy, it likes to blow back into your face (no cab yet) with just a little wind, if you throttle back a little bit, to say 1/2 throttle, it doesn't get as bad.

I can't remember which catalog.... probably NT.... but they had a red gas can with a hand operated air pump to pressurize it and a nozzle on a 6 foot hose to dispense the fuel.

Might be just the ticket...

There are a few alteratives to your problem. Have your local dealer or you can check into wheel spacers, this is what i would recommend to you. I think all you would need is about 1" to do the job. Another alternative, check into a set of rims and hubs for an L5030 Kubota. These have the 8 bolt lug pattern that your L48 does, they have adjustable dishes that your L48 doesn't, and they use the same tires. Just have to have the rubber swapped over. Hope this helps, Doc.

Sounds like the glow plugs are not functioning. Check to confirm the glow plugs are good by either removing and physically eye balling them with power applied. I am not certain if you can check this particular system with a voltmeter for resistance or not. I would check the system for a problem with the switch or faulty relay. DO NOT under ANY circumstances use ether to start the engine. If you must use a start aid such as ether; use WD-40 instead.
