dont forget the expansion/contraction of the hydraulic fluid as the temperature rises and falls during use and the added volume in a tank acts as a heat sink ,however the body of the tractor is a larger tank and heat sink .

The L3430HST-C tractors are a very nice tractor, It is true that you can't put a BH90 with the factory cab, because the back of the cabs stick out farther than the fender tractors do, so the seat of the hoe hits. Yes, I have heard Woods has a 9000 back hoe that will fit with the cab. Another nice thing about the Woods is you can get them that operate off from a remote section, making your tractor more versitile. We have had quite a few unhappy customers when we tell them about the BH90 on they're factory cab tractors. Any ?'s feel free to ask.

Ive got a funny story about an X5. I wont go into it totally except to say that he showed up to one of our off-road events to run the trails. He saw everyone airing down their tires and was asking people how much air he should take out of his 40 series tires. No one would touch that one considering that one of his wheels was worth more than most of our vehicles.

On the subject of driving a 4X4 on ice/snow. Here is how I explained it to my wife when we got our Jeeps. The benefit of 4X4 in slick conditions isnt that you can go faster, it allows you to go slower and still keep moving. You need less momentum to keep moving if youve got more traction. As for all those idiots flying down the icy interstate, dont bother trying to flag my Jeep down 10 minutes later to pull you out of a ditch, youre wasting your time. I dont mind helping people but at some point you need to let Darwin take over.

There is an alternative, depending on where you live.

In my case it is just too far from the house to the shop, about 500', so what I did was basically put a second well in for the shop.

You are not likely looking for potable water, I wasn't, just to wash hands, cars, trucks, tractors and flush the toilet.

In many cases there is more than enough ground water to get by with just a sand point 20'ish feet down. If there isn't a lot of water, or you will need lots of water for washing stuff, you can bury a tank (new, unused septic or otherwise) in the yard with a couple of holes in it under the yard and let the water table fill it, that way you always have a good supply ready when you need it. Usually you can also get the local turf company to drop a tanker full of water for a few bucks, it's $50 around here.

My shop doesn't have a septic system either, just a big tank buried in the yard. Once a year I spend about $150 and the guy pumps both the house (for safety) and the shop tanks dry.

Grassgod, I didn't mean to indicate I didn't believe your maintenance costs. I have no reason to believe otherwise. I do know that the more expensive the car, the higher the cost for parts and service. You are out of my price range, even at $85K.

You need to take your car to South Beach and cruise the strip. You wouldn't have any trouble finding South Beach models to ride with you. May be hard to explain to the wife.

Well, the weekend is here and it's suppose to snow and get cold. Monday's low is forecast below zero. I guess we need a few cold nights to kill the insects. Dave

Never. Can't happen, a physical impossibility.

Even Deere's website say that on a 4310, the full system flow is 13.9GPM, but that the power steering gets 5.3GPM, and the remotes get a MAXIMUM of 8.6GPM.

The only time the full system flow is available to any one source is when the pump is bolted to a test bench.

Yeah they will trade. The .B are a little more expensive but well worth the price. The power they are putting out is very nice.

I am going to the World Ag Expo in a few weeks just to see the new LG Montanas. It seems to me that if they can offer a 34 hp HST tractor with loader for <$16K and have the reliablily of some of the other Koreans (e.g. Kioti), then they may have a winner on their hands.

Now the only question is servicing dealers. All of the current dealers in the US can sell nationwide, apparently. I wonder what they do for local warranty service when the dealer is in Missouri and the buyer is in CA?

JDFAN, pic 4 is from a test unit that some of our techs brought back to the building due to it's failure to function. It was clear the motor control board (located in the bottom of the washer) had fried. When they opened up the board cover, they found the snake wedged in there. It had found a warm place to spend the winter. Then it shorted itself across the board. Fried control board and fried snake. It was about 18-24 inches long.

It's not from my incident. I still have no snake body. The mice seem to have stopped getting in since I plugged up the hole.

Murf,

I will gladly defer to your "extensive 'seat of the pants' research". Since the 10 bucks or so is much cheaper than any damage to the engine or fuel system I'll make the switch. What Power Service formula or dare I say color bottle do you recommend? I hope the bottle colors are the same in New Hampshire as they are in Ontario. ;o)

Would you say that it would be alright to use the Stanadyne I have during the other 3 seasons?

Yes I've had that problem. Unfortunately I don't use the tractor as much as I'd like in the winter - YET. That's due to the fact that right now I don't have a good place to park it for winter use. In the other 3 seasons I park it in the garage and keep my truck in the driveway.

This leads me to the fact that in the winter it is mostly parked behind the house under a tarp. I had a mouse nest under the hood this past spring. The little devil chewed the wires on the headlight harness. There was evidence that it happened before. The guy I bought the tractor from had put some tape on the wires. I didn't notice it when I bought it. Anyway, I had to replace the harness.

You might try the mothball route. It might work. I used to use them all the time in my campers until one spring when I opened up my large tent trailer and found major canvas damage. I also found mouse droppings within a few inches of 3 mothballs. Maybe the cold temps keeps the odor down?

The other point is that this warning is for HYDRAULIC systems.

The componenets vary widely depending on the application, in some situations, such as food processing areas they actually use things like vegetable or straight mineral oil as a hydraulic fluid. This is in order to meet food quality safety standards which do not allow petroleum products in close proximity in case of a leak or spill.

So to answer your question, no, the synthetics are not any different, the seals are.

My power beyond kit cost about $250 installed. Other members have installed the kit themselves with little trouble. It requires removing one rear wheel and a fender.

Most all are 3 bundles to a square. Some of the thicker shake-like shingles are 4 bundles to a square.

Yes it will, but you may want to cover the studs on the back side with house wrap in case you ever have to replace a piece of tin...that way, the expensive insulation will remain intact while fixing the damaged piece.
