I always kind of laughed to myself when I first saw the tiny BX23. Now that I own one I am totally amazed at the capability of this machine. I have dug over 1000 feet of drainage ditch 2 to 3 feet deep in a swamp that eats anything heavier alive. The tires on the BX23 would stay on top long enough to lay 2x10's down under the stabilizers. Another nice thing is you can stay in the backhoe seat position lift the stabilizers and front bucket and hit the big go pedal with your hand and move the BX23 in seconds. Try that on a bigger machine. I told my Kubota dealer what I was wanting to do and asked him about something bigger and he kept telling me go with the BX23 even though he did'nt have one in stock. He had every Kubota but the BX23 and could have easily sold me something bigger. The BX23 may have its limits but if it won't do the job your probably going to have to hire something bigger then a 30hp machine to get it done. I also own a 35hp Jinma for the heavy pulling but so far the BX23 has'nt needed any help.

Like tonight, my wife told me I am a 40 yr old that she needs to pick up after, she had to wipe a coffee stain/ring from the kitchen counter. I never clean after myself! (she said). well that negates the last 15 times I have wiped the ring from the counter, infact I did not know it was there! So I went to the gas station to get a cup of coffee instead of making one! LOL. I got back and she insisted on me telling her why I left? Finally against my better judgement I told her, " I thought you were unreasonable and to tell you the truth Your frickin crazy if you think you clean after me ALL the time" You guessed it, wrong answer! After 10 more min. of her ripping into me, I let the jack down that my truck was on (was going to check out the back brakes) Pulled the jack out to move it and then she told me that I was a 40 year old slob! With that my craftsmen light went flying thru the air hitting the back wall of the garage. (yes it still works even after breaking the top off and the battery flew off also, Tough light eh?) I jumped in the truck and left to go see the guys on the strike line for awhile. It only took an hour for me to realize I was in need of anouther dog. After my bride settled down she said she was sorry. Big deal man, the damage was done!!! I showed her tonight! WHen I served supper to the kids that I made we only had stuffed shells and garlic bread ( I had all the meat and sauce already made (last weeks stuffed reggatoni's, I made I had made extra meat and sauce) So I purposely only put out the stuffed shells and garlic bread with no extra sauce!!! She really likes my shells with extra sauce! I SHOWED HER EH? Think she will think twice about ripping into me again tomarroo!!!!

No it dont take two people to give a bit to make the marrige work, it takes only one to give at the right times during disagreements. If I did not like here so damm much I would trade her in for anouther Labrador. Boy she is lucky!!!

Let me tell you something that really impressed me. I ran an add in the Tractor Point classifieds.( free if a premium member) When I typed my tractor model in Google my machine came up near the top of the list, listed on Tractor Point. That is powerful advertising. Thanks to the management, my hat is off to you!!!

I have used my rear blade for temperary drainage ditchs.<br>
Even with the 4" throw cylinder I could lift my rear blade as high as the 3 point would lift and drive one side/corner of my 7' rear blade into the dirt with the tilt cylinder.<br>
I now have a CCM tilt cylinder with 5" throw and I find it has more than enough tilt angle.

I use the flush kind were ya give it a clean wipe before connecting. I had one on there that kept getting clogged. Man was that annoying! I finally got tired of hammering a nut driver to free it up so I spent the $50 & replaced it. It hasnt glogged since. Its funny how the other line never clogged. They are nice when they work though.

I know its been a long time since you posted your question about "red-tips", but I just ran across it. I live in south Alabama and have bushes called "red tops". The bushes is the left background of your pic number 3 look a little like my red tops. Are they the same thing? Anyway, my red tops are almost indestructibe, can be pruned anytime and in any manner and just keep growing back. Right now they are about twelve feet tall and serve us well as a screen between us and our neighbor.

I thought that it was a big loader too. I don't know whether to keep the loader or try to down size to a lighter one. Guess I'll take my time and decide.

I would like to pickup a service manual for a 855 if anybody has one. What kind of oil goes in the rear differential? Anybody got a copy of a manual that could scan the pages about changing the oil in the trans/rearend for me or have a manual to sell?

Any John Deere dealer can order the manuals you want. You could also check Ebay if you aren't in a hurry. Manuals of this type are frequently sold there. Congratulations on your purchase! These tractors are real workhorses with 70 horsepower.

What type hydrolic oil and filter did you use? The only only filter and oil I would use is from a Cub Cadet dealer. The hydrolic oil I use is Hy-Tran Ultra.
Oil is around $10 a gal. I change filter and fill reservior every year. I don't drain resesvior.

I think you are having foaming problem causing oil to run out the vent.

I have a IH Cub Cadet 149 that I pull a moldboard plow. I never the problem your having. I go to several plow days every year and not afraid to put the hammer down.

In this case, there is no reason to believe the disk is a copy.

If it is, the guy must have some very sophisticated gear. The off side of the disk is white and has an imprinted Deere logo.

Thanks for the info. I too have heard they use about 7 to 9 chords of wood per year depending on the out door temperature at the time. I found out it would not be to economical just to heat the garage alone with one, you would have to also heat your home with it to recover the cost of one of these units, since the price range I was quoted by about six different companies was in the ball park of about 7 to 8 grand now that is for heating both the house and the garage. That is a whole lot of dollars when I could hang 2 ceiling mounted NG heaters and use a wood burning furnace (when I�m out there) for about 1600.00 for all three pieces. The pay back cost is in about three years. I do thank you for the input on the subject.

anybody use or know how good herd spreaders are was told from a dealer today that they were one of the most accurate spreaders on the market .looking at the herd model m96, also looking at eurospan spreaders do not know much about them, also euorspan is painted metal , can not find to much of there specs on line as far as seed spreading. herd will spread seed as far little as 2 lbs per acre, must be great for clover, and it is galvanised metal, do not know which one is better anbody have these or know about them thanks kully

So far, I've only been able to look at the machine through the fence (saw the tractor on Sunday, and talked to the dealer by phone on Tuesday).

Tractor has turf tires (which I want). FEL is 410 model, so I assume a 48 inch bucket.

Unsure about transmission; will get back to you. Regret the delay; this is kind of a long-distance romance. Appreciate your patience.

Moose, same thing with my JD 110, no clearance behind the tires at all. I wouldn't even attempt chains on this one. I'm sure the same reason the L48 has such tires as Murf explained.
