Those are 8 position JD wheels set to the widest position. If you don't have 'em you can buy 'em, but you might need a new set of tires too.

Move the valve stem to the very top and drain some air to start. 12 lbs would be a good place to start.

It�s really sad, we who have toys to play on look for snow or what ever to push around just to have fun on our toys. I too live in Michigan and the weather calls for 6 to 10 inches of snow but we might get 3 to 6 tops where I live. But I did put the rear blade on my toy just in case it does.

It clearly broke. I really believe it was from forward back pressure. There is no way it would have bork from twist. only a small section was left. Sounds like it's one of the few flaws with this machine. So far this, both front axle seals leak pretty good, the fuse block is in a lousey spot and gets wet and nasty quickly, the rops don't fold and the seat cracked. other than that it's held up nicely with 280+ hard hours all pretty much loader work and zero mowing.

Need help! A customer has a J. D. X485 with 62C deck and wants a set of mower stands.<br>
Can anyone measure with a pair of verniers the back anti-scalp wheel shaft (O.D.) And the I.D. of the tube that the shaft goes into.<br>

Well I own a Kubota now, but if I still had my gas Mule I would love to put it to the test. Pulling would be close. Climbing, the Mule woud win. Roominess, the Mule has more room in the cab. There are good points and bad points to both. I havent owned my Kubota long enough to determine if it's better or not. Only time will tell. I do know this, the Kubota will stay running. I would have to start my Mule all the time. It wouldn't stay idling and if it did it wouldn't for long. But that was how it was designed, to run at a low idle.

So, if you know anyone with a mule that wants to go ass-to-ass. Give it a test.

Get to know the dealers. That is probably the second most important factor that will determine how happy you are with the tractor. A bad dealer can make a good tractor go bad in a hurry.

The entire label is different than anything I have had before, including, if the CRS isn't too bad, the old 'regular' UDT we use in the GST units.

In fact I don't remember the 'regular' stuff being called 'premium' either.

I have to take the missus out somewhere later this afternoon and in doing so have to pass the dealer, I'll drop in and pick up my bottle of Christmas cheer and check it out.

Soil that has clay in it under the top soil is not a bad thing. It will allow your new top soil to retain the moisture, especially on a slope.

Go for it.

I have the 72 rear discharge and there is lots o power left over.. You could possibly bog down if you weren�t using it as a finish mower.

Art makes some good points. I'm watching a union factory die in this town. The world changed. The union didn't. Their rules make then uncompetative as a workforce. Sad part is 95% are great workers and can totally be competitive in the global labor pool. 5% are real crap-heads that would be fired in a non-union plant and really need to be but can't because of the rules. Drags everyone else down. Company had several years of weak management and the union took advantage. They won't back down now and soon no one will have a job.

I look at it as 500 people employed as a flexible workforce without the union BS rules is far better than an empty factory with only rent-a-cops for employees.

It's just sad because it didn't have to be this way.

Last winter, my tractor was having major problems (flat tire) and I didn't have the plow on the ATV. Got stuck using the snow blower. Major rocks in driveway would shear an auger pin about every 20 minutes.

Drive it back to the shop, bust off the ice, punch out the old pin, put in new bolt, move more snow. It got real old, real fast.

Look at a slip clutch.

Folks .. thank you so much for all the info. I pulled everything out of the front end and re-did the works, right down to a new Optima D51R battery. I had some acid damage to the paint, luckily not too bad, but I had to sand, primer and repaint a bit. I had also blown a fuse to the Control Box and replaced it. I pieced everything back together and she fired right up. I just need to get some 'goo' on the terminals to prevent this from happening again and hopefully I'm good to go for some time. Thanks for all the info/tips/tricks. I'm making sure my buddies are checking out there rigs as well. Much appreciated ... Matt

I always feel comfortable giving through my church. I know they are extremely careful to spend it in ways that gain maximum effect. They wont waste it on organizations that are out to line their own pockets or are bogged down in beaurocragy.
