Hi Dennis - whatever you did seems to work, at least from my dynamic VPN at home (goes thru nameservers and firewall at work). I'm off until after the the New Year, so I won't be able to check from work if it works. What did you do? Just curious what the cause was. The 110 is a smaller machine. The L-39 Kubota is a better match and actually out performs the 110 in most areas of performance.

Tractor Supply .com? I looked and put block heater in the search and it didn't come up? It is a steel pan on the bx. I just put a magnet on it and it stuck.

Whenever you are wondering about current draw for lights, Amps=P/V, or divide the power rating of the light by the voltage. You will draw about 4 more amps with the added 50 watt bulb.

You should seee a noticable change in speed from idle to wide open throttle. If not, then I would suspect clogged filters or sump screen. Do you have a loader or any other hydraulic attachments? Do they speed up when engine speed increases? There should be two filters under your tractor. One is for hydraulics and the other is for the transmission. I would change them both and clean the sump screen. Good Luck

The 7308 loader does not have kick stands. It also sounds to me that one either the New Holland is way over priced or two your are able to get one hell of a deal on the JD.

I have been looking to erect a building and want quality & performance for the long haul.. 50 X 100 etc.. I got a price from Morton for a 54 x 105 with 2 14x14 doors and a couple of service doors, a few extras..etc. $78,000 did not include ground prep or concrete floor.. price was installed.. metal buildings 50x100 16ft eves seem to run around $35,000 with insulation, a few options..over hang etc.. no doors.. price for building delivered only..I would have to erect.. this by the way is going in Georgia around Thomasville... seems to me quality of Morton was good, sure looks nicer than a standard metal building.. wasn't sure about wood being set in concrete but was told it had a 50yr.?? warranty.. are these prices in the ball park.. and what would you recommend.. by the way this is my fist post.. I will be using building to store cars, boats, workshop..etc..

That would have been a possibility, but at the time we did mostly heavy lifting and self leveling is so nice when you are lifting a 6' tall poorly stacked pallet of mulch. It was one considration for buying it. The next year the mulch got heavier and the 48 wouldn't budge it hydraulically so we bought the Kubota R520 with mechanical self leveling, and one of my partners took the 48 home to use on the farm. IMHO nothing lets Kubota off the hook for allowing us(the Americans) to embarass a perfectly good tractor with our no R&D loader valve. They could have just fixed it right.

The majority of the break in wear occurs during the first few hours of any new engine. While it may not be necessary, there is no way that an early oil change can hurt your engine and just might help.

I am about as new to tractors as you are, but you should be able to keep those turnbuckles from turning and losing the adjustment. One way I've seen is to use a safety wire between one side of the turnbuckle body and some other fixed surface. If the turnbuckle body can't turn it won't lose adjustment. I agree with others that if your links are rubbing on the tires, they've gotten too loose. Assuming they didn't start that way, they've got to be turning.

A couple of years ago I purchased a three acre tract that has been in grass for several years. I did a soil sample and the results where very low lime and low phosphors, also recommended adding nitrogen.

In October I added ag lime at the rate of two tons per acre. December is the recommended time to add nitrogen, but I haven't done it yet.

A soil sample is the only way to go, then you know what you need to add. My cost was $5 with a two to four week turn around. Dave

I tink the 7308 is a great loader when I first got it, it would not lift over 400lbs, the valve settings where to low from the factory. I had them raised even higher than factory specs. I have lifted over a ton with no problems. I am aware that there could be a problem with the front axal when lifting heavier loads, but I have not had any trouble. I still think the price differance does not seem right.
PS I love my NH but I am not a fan of supersteer I tried both before buying.
