I recently upgraded my B7500 for a Grand L3130. Super happy with the new toy. I have a trailer that I used for the 7500 and am concerned over the weight of the 3130. The trailer has a gross load capacity of 4400 pounds. I have loaded the 3130 and made a couple short trips but think I am overweight. Can anyone tell me the live weight of a L3130, loaded R4s, 732 FEL? Thanks muchly.

Even tho I've driven, repaired and relied on tractors for a half century for our living, I would'nt dream of buying a tractor on E-bay or any sight unseen situation (I learned the hard way buying parts on the internet). Your first and perhaps your most important decision is picking a dealership that's been in business for a good long time, ask them for references, if there straight shooters they'll be glad to. Far as brand I'm pretty much a green person. Orange and blue are great tractors too so long as you have a good dealership to take care of your needs. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to find service or parts for an orpahn piece of equipmwnt. Best of luck. Frank.

I really liked the last pair of Red Wings I had, but really dislike the new pair. Paid $225.00 for them, used them half a dozen times and they won't take em back so I'm stuck with them. Well, it's better than bare foot:)

Thanks your posted helps me get a better idea. Another friend of mine in Hannibal said try putting a nut on each side of the turn buckle to keep them from backing off. Would this work or would it cause damage.

Gearing up for xmas, I think I might be getting a box scraper, there is a funny looking heavy and large package under the tree that is green. I just can not figure how she got it in the house and up the steps.

If I am correct you said "hold it together" I take it your soil is mostly sand? If so either would do you for impliments. Regaurdless you must be putting in food plots? You wont have to ever go deeper than 4-5 inches for what you want to establish. With your sandy soil you will want to build it up as much as possible and keep the nutrients in the top portion. After you start dont go deeper than the 4-5 inches and dont plow. I have soil that is clay/black and rocks. Its pretty good soil but with the rocks its a pain. I have a disk which is great but only if you break it up first. I will buy a tiller (5-6') this spring. The tiller is slow but in one pass you will go from a crappy looking field to a perfect seed bed that only needs to be packed back down a bit after planting. The time you will save along with the money in fuel and hours on the machine you will save will be well worth it using the tiller with one pass instead of the rippers maybe 3-4 passes and then the disk maybe 3-4 more passes. All the tools you mentioned the disk the box scraper and the tiller are great and each may have a place on your food plot. If you were to buy only one though, hands down I would buy the tiller.

If you want to stay with the smaller deck why not go for the ZD21? They also had the 18 which ran the 60 but that was a little under powered with occasional mowing. If you like the larger chassis they also have the ZD-25.

My Kubota dealer wants to pick my new BX23 at 25 hours and do the first service? I was wondering why since the manual says 50 hours? The rate the hour meters spin on these BX's I should have to have the first service by weekend.

I have no doubt Rotella is a superb oil but why it is the only one mentioned here is strange. I have used and seen used in industrial applications Texaco Ursa, Mobil, Valvoline, Pennzoil....all are fine oils.
Personally I would not use 15w-40 in a small tractor unless I were in a warm climate (never below 30) and/or used the machine daily for hours on end. In a start/stop periodic use application like most of our little tractors are, 15-40 is too thick on startup. This is just my opinion.

We have sold many TC55da tractors but not too many 48 tractors. The EHSS is just too nice of a feature in it self to not go with the 55. Also the 55 has the same engine as the ls 170 skid loader so I can say with confidence that the engine is a proven power house and very reliable.

My suggestion would be to drive both of them and you will see the power difference.

Jumping in on this conversation a little late, but I vote for the bow!

When I was about 12 or 13, I tried archery at a boy scout camp. Fell in love. Had already been shooting with my dad many times with our .22 and tried some bigger calibers (but didn't like them because I was really too small yet for the kick and weight).

But archery captured me. A year or so later, he gave me a 6' straight bow he got from his boss (who had hand made it many many years earlier). I was in heaven.

That bow eventually got broken in an altercation with a car (while riding my bike to the local jr college to use their archery range), but I never forgot how much more I enjoyed shooting the bow than the gun.

It's one heck of a lot cheaper to shoot too. You chase your ammo down and reuse it.. :-)

I am thinking of buying a Kubota zero turn ZD 28, but am not sure whether to go for the 60 inch mower deck or the 72 inch. The latter would have the advantage of greater acre per hour productivity and the deck would extend farther out beyond the frame of the tractor to facilitate mowing under trees, etc. But I have heard that the 72 inch deck is much more likely to scalp uneven ground (and I have plenty of that). Moreover, I don't get to mow as often as I should, so the grass (and weeds) get long and maybe the 60 inch mower would better handle that situation. In any event, I'd really welcome the views of the pros both on the mower size issue and any opinions on the ZD 28.

Taheide, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I found the fuel filter that was supposed to be in the truck. Meaning, I bought this summer and was supposed to install it. Thought I had. Guess I didn't. Life's been hectic with working full-time and going to school full-time. Guess it caught up with me... But graduated last night and I got a new fuel filter installed Thursday. I also added the Power Sourse additive so hopefully that will clean the injectors some.

It seems to be doing much better with the new filter. I took it easy due to the oil coming out of the front of the rear end. Dropped the truck off to be repaired while I'm out doing the family holiday thing.

With the rear ened fixed and the new filter, I'll check the mileage and see if it's improved.

Was the new exhaust system easy to install? I helped a buddy install an aftermarket one on his Mustang yeas ago. Wasn't bad with two people. But if I do it, it'll probably be just me installing it.

I do love the diesel truck. As described, it's a giant brick, but that big friggin' engine really gets her hauling. It was fun 4 years ago when I was doing 75+ mph hauling an ATV and a bunch of crap in the back of my truck while towing a Ford Ranger loaded down with another ATV and more crap. I blew past those minivans and never even slowed when going uphill. I love having the big engine. But, I would like more power... Can never have enough.

That is not a very good idea. There is a possibility of sever electrical component damage as a result of "jumping the solenoid"

First look behind and between the left rear tire toward the bottom of the trans. housing. There are a couple switches that thread into the housing. make sure none of the wires are torn.

Also how old is your tractor? Is your PTO indicator light on? You said it will crank over? Were you running it and shut it off then tried to start it again the same day or did you try the next day or later? Is the tractor in a heated building? Did you check for blown fuses?

nchrunch32; Not a thing wrong with good ole yankee ingenuity. I had a stick or something pull the wire off the PTO soelnoind on the 4410 while doing high grass work in a road ditch last summer, it had me puzzled for a bit when the PTO stoped. I called the service rep at the dealership, this must happen more often than I thought as he told me what was wrong, and had me going in a couple minutes. I too checked into the rental upgrade. I don't know for sure what all comes with it but it did seem pretty expensive. If I have time next spring I may try a piece of ply myself. Happy Holidays. Frank.

What about using 1 1/2 " foam sheets pressed on over the nails with some foam board adhesive. The wiring could be put on the 2x4's in conduit, or just staple them.
As far as burying them in the wall, just make sure you run plenty of supply. You can always junction box off an outlet. I would bet you never would have to. They are
foaming new and old home here in Maine,covering plumbing and wiring. Have not heard of any problems. How many times have you had to open up a wall to add a pipe or wire ? not very often I bet.
