I haven't paid much attention to the filter and fan, however, when I get a chance I'll take a close look. Probably won't be until after Christmas.

We have company coming this weekend and the weatherman is forecasting an arctic blast and snow Sunday into Monday. The garage I keep my tractor in isn't heated.

This spring I hope to fabricate a carryall mounted to the 3PH. I don't have an arc welder, this could be a good excuse to purchase one.

Archdean, that is probably true! If it weren't for imported hedge trees (osage orange), it would be pretty barren. Not as treeless here in central KS though as out west. (Course I wouldn't want to cut even one osage orange without a good chainsaw!)
When I was in college here in KS my roommate was from PA and Dodge City was as far west as he had ever been. He thought it was really barren. One Thanskgiving he went to my home in SE Colorado with me. We drove a ways north of my parents home out onto the prairie and literally could see for miles in all directions and the tallest vegetation in sight was waist high. Then he really knew what barren was!

IMHO I would try it without chains first, unless you have a very steep drive. Maybe let a little air out of those turfs.
I think chains on all four wheels will put undue strain on your running gear.
But if you want some try these guy's.

Was at my local dealer the other day discussing another purchase and he stated that the '05 models got a couple of HP increase because of the competition. Therefore, the TC21 is now a TC23 and the TC24 is now a TC26. Not sure of any other changes.

Hi,my first post. I have a Ford 1710 with a Shibaura H843 engine (3 cylinders). The block has developed a crack at the left lower side near thr oil pan and the transmission bolt. The engine works fine but the crack is getting larger with use. Any suggestions on a short block vs complete engine or other options. Thanks much Joe

Thanks to all that weighed in on the slow response time. I agree, this is a great site, but when it's as slow to respond as it has been, it gets a bit frustrating. Time of day does not seem to matter on my end. As I indicated I have absolutely no problem connecting to any other site at any time of day with my cable connections except this site.

Would it be possible for the site administrator to add his comments, solutions or observations to this issue?

Most diesel's compression is around 400 lb. Needs different equipment than a gas engine.

Considered and rejected, reason being for 500+or-$ and since I wont be towing it a cut piece of plexi will do for me in the winter and in the summers here in Okie land the breeze feels welcome!!

Might change my mind later after some seat time but at the moment I'll try it first but thanks for the thought, no doubt about it if I was going up and down Skyline in ER you bet your bippie it would have a windshield!!

While I did seriously consider NH, I refused to consider any with super steer. I didn't want any big long mess. Yes it will turn a tighter radius at the rear wheel, but some is given up at the bucket edge because it sticks out so much farther. On the plus side it will be more stable going up and down hill, not that I have ever had a problem with a normal tractor up and down hills.

I heard Cat just settled their contract? If it was what I heard it was, they done ok. We are going backwards, and a school buss full of (honest what looked like convicts on work release) went into our training center today to learn some shop safetey before entering the shop.
Anouther company that is about 3 miles from us just anounced they are going to close the doors and move. They had a contract dispute, the company wants them to take a 46% wage cut! I believe it is around 600 employees and citizens of our comunity that are now out of jobs. Boys, this is getting out of hands in this country! I will tell you all that it is just a matter of time (if companys keep closing here in the uas) before most of the engineers will have to learn chineese to have a job. I am thinking about baleing out of here soon. I will get as far from manufacturing in any way-shape-or form. Management, engineers,machinests,etc. Beware what you ask for or who you bash, you could be looking for a job in a environment or market that is shrinking also. Do you know what happens when there are more people in your line of work than there are jobs? I wish the best for all here over the holidays and good luck next year. I think I will go check out a greener pasture right after the holidays.

Murf, out of curiosity, what were the first couple of changes that helped improve your mileage?

I've got this thing for at least another 100k miles since we had to trade in the wife's Mustang GT convertible for an SUV due to our first baby being on order (currently 19 weeks into the usual 40+ weeks of back-order). So my vehicle needs are being ignored. So I'm interested in some additional mileage. If power was boosted as well... Well, that would be a shame and I would just have to sacrifice and accept that result. :)

Dodge never, to my knowledge, had axle problems with the genII trucks. Their axles were Dana models. 60 or 44 in the front, 60, 70 80 or 80 hybrid (80 center with 70 shafts) in the rear on the 2500/3500's. They had and still have problems with their auto trannys (that's why I got the hand shaker :p ). The reason for the change to the American axles on the genIII (2003+) trucks was purely $$. They have since changed again. (I don't know to whom)<br>

BTW, Daimler/Chrysler now owns Detroit diesel, this is probably why GM bought the Isuzu diesel for thier trucks instead of a new Detroit.

I'd want to do some shopping to be sure you can work all the options that you might need. my favorite post hole agers here in NY are hydralic run so you can reverse them when you get to a stone and one mounted off the loader frame also allows some down pressure. With a loader you have a lift and if you went three point hitch on the post hole auger many of them can also be used as a crane. You did well on your purchase. We sell Bush Hog and Great Bend for after market as well as ALO loaders. It maytake a day to get to the books that I need but I'll see which is the best value. Do you know what your local dealers sell? You will be around 3000 plus or minus can you mount it?

Before my crash, i had a cavalier, and it seemed that everytime i went through the wash, something would break. It wasn't immediate, but sooner or later something would break, i'm thinking maybe car washes and chevys don't mix...my nissan on the other hand....

I do not move snow so my info is about dirt. I have a BX2200 with fel, well I've traded it for a B7800 but anyway I've spent a year with the fel. It does pick up and move and spread dirt plus other things. I then back drag the dirt with the fel bucket. I did not used the rear blade I bought, actually traded it back to dealer for a box blade since back dragging the front bucket does such a great job leveling/spreading/filling. Just my experience. I actually spent a lot of hours trying to justify fel cost but it has been the best part of my purchase due to moving dirt,etc.
I've also bought 3 new tractors (BX2200, BX1500 & B7800) in a little over a year.

AV8R I was just looking at the pics of your FMSB on your site. The set-up and unit look identical to the ones that were just mounted on my NH TZ24DA, except for the color.
