All are great suggestions...after some thought and reading some posts here, I think the BB gun is too much of a toy...I don't want my kids to ever think of a gun as a toy, and do not let them play with "toy" guns now. I have a Sheridan air rifle, and will probably get him to start using that, and wait another year for the .22. The hunter safety courses in PA are only offered to youth at least 11 years old. Depending on his size, in a year or two I might look at Remington youth shotgun...the action is the same as the regular model, only the stock is cut down, and can be retrofitted later. I'm sure someone makes a similar .22. Thanks again for all the feedback, and (politically incorrect?, too bad) Merry Christmas to all.

When I apply the wearing course, I plan to use a #1-stone. I was planning to spread this myself w/ a basic loader and letting it compact under normal use. Is this sufficient, or should it be rolled?

I guess I'm saying a lot of dumb things lately. I did go look at my building today. Yes the siding nails don't show thru because the siding is nailed in line with the studs on 16 in. centers.

But you can't do this if you were to run the studs horizontal rather than vertical as in a pole barn.

BigBob, I know the feeling. My first winter on my acreage I killed over 20 mice. Seemed like the previous owners didn't do much to knock them down. I used traps like you did. Then I put Dcon up in the attic. That seemed to kill off one of the sources.

I also put Dcon out in my shop to kill off that population. I hid the boxes in locations where the dogs couldn't get them. It seems to have helped. The following winter, I killed some more, but only about 6.

I got tired of checking my trap line so I went with poison. It seems to be working. I haven't found where they are coming in, but I know who built the house so I expect there is a mouse highway somewhere.

I forgot the name of the restaurant west of Milwaukee that I ate at over Thanksgiving. Incredible fish fry. The cod pieces were at least 1.5 to 2 inches thick. Crispy batter that wasn't soaked in oil. I'm droolig just thinking about it... Oh!!

Maybe I should go back to Alaska for more Halibut. That was a great summer when I brought back over 50 lbs of it. Yum!

i've bought over 60 cars/trucks so i'm familiar with car trading. bought 2 new kubotas in a year so familiar with buying new tractor and now want to trade the 2003 bx2200 with 120 hours,(still under warranty) 60"mmm and fel toward a new or near new b2910 or b7800. not sure how this is most effectively/fairly done. i've figured that my bx2200 should be worth about $11000 from what i've seen other people asking, paid over $13000 for it a little over a year ago. any helpful hints concerning tractor trading/selling will be appreciated.

My only comment about the 14' trailer is that many more 16' trailers are sold than 14'. If you ever wanted to sell it the 16' should have the better resale ease and value of the two. This may be, however, more of an issue with the utility trailer than the dump.

MJBMAN, I have a TM 432E that I purchased earlier this year (60 hours so far). Aside from some dealer quality control issues when I first got it, the tractor has done everthing I've asked it to and more. Very strong tractor. As to the parts, not sure what the arrangement is with the individual dealers out there, but I've had no problems with getting parts from my dealer. I beleive my dealer is located at the main headquarters for TM tractors, which is in Oregon.

Except for construction scrapers that scoop/dump, box scraper and box blade are generally interchangeable terms. Perhaps you're confusing one with a rear (grader) blade. See

Be sure to check that the connection for the transmission safety lockout has not come loose. This is the connector that keeps your tractor from starting if it's in gear. I've had mine come loose twice on my 4100....the first time requireing a service call (now I know where to look!). Anyhow, check under the seat on the left side of the tractor. There is a small post that comes off the tranny as I recall that a small electrical plug goes on. Worth a look.

Doughboy, I highly recomend that you get some advise on conducting a lift, many torsion bars cannot be cranked a in order to get more lift(however some say you can inorder to get 1.5-2" which you want.) Most of the lift kits for this type of IFS require the elimination of the torsion bars and going with a coilover shock system or remounting the front end with special brackets to accept your existing torsion bars. I am certainly no expert in this field but I recomend a second opinion especially if you are under warrenty.

As far as the shimmy issue, I the think AV8R's above posts are on the mark, I would also find a shop in your area that is not affiliated with any dealer and take their top tech for a ride.

Regarding the Power service label saying add before 32* degrees, I think thats the gell point for diesel untreated.
If diesel waxes over or the water condensation freezes I guess it too late for Power Service...thats how I looked at it...once added correctly you can go below zero

Dennis I do believe that the base frame and drive system will miss the bucket when lowered. That is the only concern that I'd have and it could be easily checked to see if it would clear.

It's quite a story. I bought the SpeeCo for myself and it worked great for the pallet fork. It was painted black and I took it to get it painted JD green, They wanted $50 to paint it. My Son said he would like to have one so rather than pay to have it painted I gave it to him. I paid $169 for it and wasn't going to spend $50 to get it painted. We are going to compare them when mine comes in. There are several of the SpeeCo's around here and I haven't heard Comments either way, but I will check it out.
