You can't get there from here. The only tractor tire I have found that will fit a 12x4 inch rim is the Ag tire you already have. If you want to install turfs or R-4's you will need a much new, much wider front rim.<br>

All is not lost though. I had the same issue with my first tractor, a JD 4100 GEAR. After careful study, I figured out how to use the existing rims with kinder and tires.<br>

I ended up with an all season 155-12 radial on the front and a 245/75-16 radial M&S on the rear.<br>

That said, I have a set of R-4s sitting in the shed from my 4115. The fronts are still mounted on rims. I don't know if your tractor has the same front bolt pattern as my 4115 though.<br>

LATER ENTRY: I found a pic of a 770 on the net and we definitely do not have rims in common. The is some very good data on the Firestone Ag web site that tells you how to calculate the gear ratio between front and rear axles. Once you know that it is pretty easy to mach up a set of car/truck tires.

I have the tires rotated and balanced on a regular basis. Check the tire pressure often also and still the same problem. If the balance was off wouldn�t I have the problem all of the time not intermittently??

For those of you with front mount snowblowers on John Deere or Kubota, how much time does it take for removal and then re-installation of the unit? Do they make them that mount in place of the QD buckets? I am considering a purchase of a Deere or Kubota in the coming months and am curious as to how much time it will take to switch back and forth from the QD loader bucket to the blower if need be. I have a 1700' dirt/gravel slightly inclined drive in Pa which has a drifting problem. Any comments on snowblowers, even 3ph mounted, would be appreciated. Thanks

Erik the pricing is in line with the prior models to a degree. Don't get me wrong as the discounts are high right now on the replaced models and that's not quite fair. There are different ways to look at things such as the foot petal issue. The majority of all compacts sold are a tredle style on a hydro! The bulk of all tractors built probably well over 90% if not 95% or more have the brakes on the right!

Farm or the large open double ring chains are meant of open fields with deep snow or in muddy conditions. Bus or truck small ring chains are better for on ice as they normally have squarer edges. I'd say I think your main problem would be ice? I would recommend lowering your air pressure to allow the maximum flexibility of the tire for the largest foot print for best traction. Even chains spin with little or no traction gains over proper tires. On blacktop often turf tires give the best traction.

bmeyer, when the JD lights are plugged into the pigtail harness designed for it they are controlled with the main light switch.

The Cadet numbers do look good off the litureature comparing to the JD4310 in this comparison. I would question as to the desired chores of the tractor for tire selection as Ken stated for the ideal tractor combination and for proper set-up for the longevity and versatility in a tractor you'd expect to buy.

Frank, loosely speaking in most things in life they say if you don't use it you loose it! Brake drums have a lot of dust that collects on them and can cause higher wear as well as a great place for moisture to build up. For the additional 30 to sixty minutes for installation the extra 100 dollars put the brakes on both axles. It is a good idea to take them out and exersize them for trouble free operation regularly for trouble free operation in the northeast otherwise we are working on them anyway. To only use it every six months or so in wet weather could lead to rust being your main enemy.

I like the Geotex fabric idea. I found a number of sites that have the stuff but most companys offer lengths suited for highway construction. There is one I'll give a call to on Monday, they have the stuff in 12ft x 50ft rolls, the link is below.

Ken... Randy mentioned a Sheridan air rifle. It is the same product as the Benjamin I mentioned.

As far as sophistication, in europe they have had air rifles capable of taking deer at close ranges for a couple hundred years.

If you have the money, you can find air rifles that are charged from a scuba tank and will do anything a 22 LR will do and more.

I have a 4330 with the loader (723 I think?) and the BH90 - wheel weights, block heater, and a couple of toys for the back. I'd say you got a good deal compared to my prices. I think you will have a great time, I love my tractor, and the BH90 has bought be some serious good will with the neighbors.

Anything to large to bush hog, cut as low to the ground as you can and chip, leaving the chips on the ground. Then just keep bush hogging the area as things grow,throw out a little grass seed. The roots of the old saplings will rot and make good soil for the grass along with the chips.

Ann, nice to know there are UK fans in Ohio. UK didn't do very well this afternoon in their game at North Carolina. Oh well, we have two freshman starting but we have owned NC the last four outings. Gave them their second worse home court loss in '02.

The threads on this board are interesting in how they ramble from one subject to the next. This one began as a possible strike and ends up talking about dogs and moles, and now basketball.

Ann, maybe you ought to setup a program to determine what percentage of the threads stay on the subject from beginning to end. I bet it would be small.

Would someone please advise me about the proper lubricant for the front axle of a YM135D 4 wheel drive? I purchased the I&T shop manual, but it only gives the capacities for fluids and does not mention the recommended fluids to use.

Local dealers are your life support system for when you have troubles. I often tell people to let me know what there goals are and then it cuts the chase down. There are two things going on in every sale. The sales force wants to make all they can. The buyer wants to pay as low as possible. Often when knowing what the conditions are it is easier to make a call to do the deal.
