Unless they ran it without fluid in the system then they could have damaged the pump.

I am surprised they did not operate the tractor after changing the hoses and fluid. If for no other reason than to get the fluid filled to the proper level they would have had to run the hyd system to purge the air. Or did they measure the amount that drained out and just replaced it or have specs for the tractor. If they did not run the hyd system after changing hoses and fluid with filter and then checking to top off would find a different repair shop. I expect that on any filter and fluid change on any engine or equipment. Whether I do it or hired it done. kt

Dennis I appreciate your sharing such info as this. Our cable is with our local phone company which is a cooperative and we pay somewhere about $50 per month for our cable which is also what they use for internet transmission. We get all we care for in that package other than would like the classic westerns and Hallmark channel but frankly the premium channels do not fit our care to watch list. Wondering about the SEC bringing new channel next year if that will be the last of our watching one of our favorite but if it does will see their highlights on some channel.

Have you checked to be sure the linkage is moving the shaft? You will need a helper to move the lever while you watch the shaft for slight movement.

Was this all at once or had you had problems before?

Does the bucket work?

I have no idea outside of the drive system what would stop booth pto and rear lift from working unless your pto is hyd controlled. Does it engage with a toggle or short lever or does it use shift lever probably mounted on the side of the transmission and need to use clutch to shift into pto and out?

If your pto is hyd control my guess is you have a relief valve that is the issue. kt

Been away from computer for a few days.

So it ran fine for a while after you replaced the lost hyd oil. Does the manual call for 10w40 for the hyd system? Not the engine but the hyd system.

Is there a filter in the hyd system, if so have you replaced it?

You have looked and it sounds like the linkage is all moving and shifting as it should.

How to test the pump, I would suggest getting a mechanic with gauges to test it. Hyd systems run or are designed to run pressure of say 2 to 3000 PSI and that pressure can be dangerous to let loose. I am not suggesting you try this but if you are determined to do some testing with tractor cut off break a fitting loose very little and cover with a good heavy rag it should run out with tractor running (I would only run at idle) and system being operated. Still recommend you get mechanic in that system.

On the hose bursting, did it run all oil out of the system allowing the pump to run dry?

One other question, you say it raises it up every 5 - 7 seconds. So is it really dropping or just pressure sort of kicking it.

If it really is dropping it seems you have a leaking cylinder or control valve. If that is it then would need to decide if worth tearing down to repair or just annoying.

My guess is the reason you feel it at higher rpms if the pressure is probably higher make it jump and shake the tractor where you notice it. I doubt any company designs a lift to do this on purpose.

If the box blade is not really dropping my guese is may be a relief valve needs adjusting.

Bigbluecat5, check for floating trash in the fuel tank. A floating piece will get sucked to the fuel outlet as it runs and will when fuel flow stops (cutting if off) slowing vacuum will release and the trash can float, allowing fuel out for it to run again. You can test this if it runs till it cuts off by removing filter and seeing if fuel runs freely.

I would also check air intake system.

To being with can only tell you about it, have no idea of brand name.

Was at my lawn mower dealer about three Saturdays back and they were testing what looked like a dune buggy is my best way to tell you. It had roll cage more like them and about same about of sheet metal. It was street legal with four wheel drive. Was told the price was about $15,000 with cost to dealer of about $12,000 to $13,000 with Chinese motor. Mechanic at dealership concern was the motor. Was built for off road and was suppose to be very hard to bog down. Oh well maybe on the hard to bog down. LOL Understood it was new import here and no idea of here was the US or this area only. This one only had two seats if memory is right and no bed.

I have been one who in time past really had overloaded tow vehicle and learned the dangers without them coming true. Much more fun to have proper tow vehicle and trailer. Happened to have a pickup salesman once who was a professional educate the pulling was not the issue it was the stopping and handling.

I agree with you on trailer 2 more feet would have given you some breathing room. The crane looks interesting there. Something that has had benefit for me to prevent borrowing was going to trailer of the size I needed with pintle hook, don't think it has been asked to borrow that and the three axles look like monster which it really is not. Have in time past used large commercial plug to prevent the asking to borrow but now many pickups come with those plugs. The funny thing is I may ask more to borrow than is asked of me but I only borrow form those who I will loan to so feel it is a true two way street.

Had to reread it to fully understand and then I chuckled. I have learned rather loan my tractor with operator than alone. That way it is taken care of and they feel like I did them a favor. Seems many don't think borrowing a tractor is a favor like you doing the work.

Have never put down a well nor helped with one.

In my part of the world they did drive a two or so inch well down and yes at 20 feet often good water flow. (we are about 20 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and not many feet above sea level)

But driving a well down here gave way to "washing" it down years ago. Is that possibly an option to give you any more diameter or depth?

Murf, your comments are right where I expected you to be based upon your thoughts over the years. Is there a brand of fmm you would recommend and is there one you would stay away from?
