Do not over look the brand names own for sale sites. Some give a warranty and they have their reputation on the line about what claims they make on the machine.

For my nickel would stay away from auctions. I have been to many mostly if not all for implements and yet to think they sold reasonable. Had tractor salesman years ago warned me on that and think his advice has proven good.

At same time your providence may have a publication for such as farmers selling their own equipment.

When I first went looking for excavator a few years back got a retired friend of mine who owned several machines while in business to test the machine for me. That was very wise. It cost me his lunch and got to visit with a grood friend.

If you still have the old one take it to a parts store like NAPA or such and should have no issue matching it.

yes, safety swtiches as anyother kind of switches can and do go bad but if it is turning over doubt that is the issue.

I don't know a simple one beats the other all the time answer. But I have two Kubotas, one 27 hp and the other 68. Will admit they have a reasonable easy life. Had a great to loose a tooth the transmission of the 68 hp that disappointed me but with that being said would buy both again. Had the 68 about 13 years and the 27 about 10 years. Bot have little less than 1,000 hours on them. No experience on cabs.

Kubota as far as am aware still makes all their machines NH does not. The smaller ones are made for them but not sure if the 50 hp falls in the one they make or contracted out.

You also need to compare dealerships. Do some scanning of threads here on some complaints of frame issues with NH, not sure the model but I would want to skip that one.

jdgreen, first what great details.

Is it possible to use a higher grade bolt than what JD used and help some by doing so? Then maybe they used the highest grade.

Have you checked to see if fuel is coming out the tank when it cuts off? through the filter? Could be trash in the fuel tank.

You may well need a pump but can tell you from experience if water is in the hyd oil will also perform poorly it at all when hot.

To my thinking unless you are certain the hyd oil and filters are clean then you should first do as condoarms suggested. At least drain the hyd oil looking at it for contamination and the filters for their condition.

We have had rain Sunday, Monday and then Tuesday. We have to have the most rain this summer we have in a few years. My wife cut our grass Friday aftrnoon and yesterday it looked like it was over a week old. Normally does well on a 7 day cutting cycle. Expecting it to warm up a little bit and rain to drop off for the next few days. Soybeans got planted late by many due to fields being so wet and if we don't get an early forst think they will do fine for our rains normally don't support late planted soybeans.

Auerbach, I use the filter below on my tank. There are two filter options. One is only particle the other think like a dollar more will catch the water. No can not dry out the filter for the method it stops the water seems to trap it clogging the filter. As it stops water it becomes harder and harder to pump fuel through it. No idea on ethanol use.

My guess is most fuel filters for tanks would have both options. Not aware of such option for the filter on a machine.

Murf, understand on the taxes. Did that years back and not sure why stopped. Think one reason is the tax system to file for refund requires income from certain off road industries. Think I quit for a few years were not filing a tax return that qualified for the refund. Another reason was my understanding the off road had different additives the older engines needed or at least liked.
