Murf you probably are correct in your diagonis but for his shake sure rather it be the pto shaft...ugh.

The old Fords lifts had such a hiccup problem and were used a lot for tobacco cultivation which was a problem as the cultivators always jumping. A local company came up with a design for a slide to bolt onto the cultivator to support the weight of the culitvator taking it totally off the lift so you got level plowing. My in laws had such a tractor and with the right load on it running at the right rpm sitting still the tractor would almost get itself bouncing.

To be sure: the lift will raise at any time the tractor is idling but not at higher RPMs, correct?

It also will raise when you first crank up the tractor when it has not been used long enough it has cooled off, correct?

One other question, how many hours on this tractor and did it begin all at once or got worse over time?

If it raised only when you first crank the tractor and as you use it it gets weaker, check your oil for water. If there is water in it find the source of the water fix it, drain the oil and change any filters.

From a person with very limited FEL experience: between the two tractor believe the power steering is important if doing a lot of fel work. If you are doing real shot drive up and back ups for fel would like the HST but really believe manual steering would be worst than the manual trans would be. At same time not sure how much it is but my understanding is the HST does use some hp compared to the manual trans so for me two reasons here to go with the manual trans tractor you mention.

Having thought on this more, talk with your agent. If separate agents talk with both. If not pleased then call your State Department of Insurance.

Now why the $1500 limit on your boat? Was that an agreed to value or limit in your policy? Or did their policy not give a limit but that is the book value of the boat? Crunch not a boat insurance pro but the cover probably is not the same coverage as the boat itself, it probably is under accessories or such. As such could it be considered personal property under your HO policy?

When you say it will not crank, you mean crank over correct? Do you have any way to check to see if current is getting to the starter when you try cranking if? Don't think me dumb here (done such) but did you remove a wire from the battery to remove the starter?

You may have gotten it fixed by now but, it should be easy to pull the starter and having it stable hit the key and see if starter works. If you have an amp meter you could test for load on the starter while cranking it. If manual transmission you might try rocking the tractor to see if starter might be engaged and locked. If so this might break it loose. One other thought, be sure the starter is not loose.

Frank, Today might be so but a lot of tools are sold on ebay. Have a friend who has pawn shop and said he sells a lot to the New England area as the prices were so much lower than there.

To those in this thread that are reasonable new here I don't sell tractors or other than friend and customer of a local dealership have no relations with one.

I totally disagree with no dealers will help. If you read many threads here where a person is asking for suggestions on brand or such you often find the comment, the dealership is as important or more than the brand. If you have not found a dealership that is helpful, keep driving until you do. They are out there and are worth a little higher price for they make all the difference in the world.

The person who recommended the one dealership and EW asked a question of him with no reply so far makes me wonder if he is that dealership. Just wondering there. Those one post and gone do that, make me wonder that is.

The hoses built while you wait are not reasonable price if premade are available. They become best options due to availability of the premade hoses.

Following Jeff suggestion on cleaning, you probably need a person you can really trust to let you be in place to watch for leak before the tractor is cranked as you want to see it begin the seeping and not when all is wet.

JD own web site does not have that spec either. Probably as Hardwood pointed out the tires used can affect that so easy. If you are considering a two wheel model something that might would work if a size larger rear tire is available compared to the front tire. No idea what affect that would have on say a mid mount mower of course if you had FEL on it would hurt that lift.

Does your tractor have the add on remote hyd? If so are you sure you did not bump one of the levers out of where it should be diverting the oil flow away from the lift?

You are sure your oil level is okay also.

Not sure of this 100% but think it will work.
Find a way to profit from raising mice and per the laws of farming they will suddenly become hard to raise and require much care to live.
We really seldom have mice rate problems normally happens when the crops are combined and cold hits which hope is still a couple of months off. But here the real danger is not the mice themself it is the snakes that feed on them. They can make you hurt yourself!

Memory weak here but some time back the sulfer was point of conversation I saw else where. Think the often response was with off road it really varied a lot due to the local fuel people. Those who really handled a lot of off road did have it with higher sulfer where the smaller oil dealership did just as Greg said just dying their other fuel to show no road tax paid on it.

So let me get this straight: if I don't like a person running a big rig all I need is a small bottle of the red dye and treat their tank and then watch the fines pile up? Somehow the way Jeff posted made me realized this. Sure would want me to lock my tanks.

I have no idea how 9/11 might have affected you or your family. Possibly you lost a loved one, friend or family member. Possibly you helped with those who were attacked directly or perhaps you were as I was saddened to see my brothers and sisters killed. It mattered not that a face or name I did not know, they were and are still my brothers and sisters.
