I have used the bench grinder and a 4 1/2 angle grinder and greatly prefer the angle grinder. But the tool that I really like the best is a large belt sander. Now you are talking about rough cut blades (think that is correct) and I have never sharpen those, only on finishing mower. If you are able to access them on the mower still think you will have to be able to lock them from pivoting. The problem find with the angle grinder is you need the blade flat for sharpening but a vise holds them vertically or wants to so I normally use a C clamp on a work bench.

One point on the cutting edge on rough cut mower and don't take this as being a sure fact but have been told you want an edge there that does not slice brush to prevent sharp stubble.

I am not sure so this is really a question: I have been told the "off road" fuel is not low sulfur. No idea if that is still true or not and if it might vary from area to area.

You might be correct there but for the machine to be that old with that few of hours on it fuel comes to my mind. It seems ti would be possible there could be gelled fuel in the tank or water. Have you checked or replaced the fuel filter? Do you run a fuel conditioner in it?

Gatorraider is the pro but I was washing our Gator yesterday and notice a small box inside the engine compartment on the right frame. It looked like a junction or fuse box. Did not look that careful at it.

It might be I don't appreciate the cats that roam my area enough. Guess brushing off the seat before crawling on the tractor or excavator is small price to pay for good guard service. :)

Did have a corn/bean planter one year lacked to fail to find what the problem was with seed spilling out. Finally realize rat (mice?) next in the drop tube backing it all up.

I am assuming you have looked and can not find one. Have you done the slow hard work of taking the one one with you to a good parts store and asking can you provide me with something to replace this?

Even with the maintenance you did are you sure fuel is getting through the filters and lines?

You could have trash in the tank floating over the outlet tube and are you sure you don't have bad fuel?

Okay not either of those: do you know the tractor? If so did it just start doing this all at once? I am not one who can answer the pump is bad.

You may not get the answer to your question here but the local Kioti dealership makes up hyd hoses. The local shop I use has all kinds of hyd fittings. If you are using the rubber type hoses would be surprised if they did not stock them. It metal tubing then you probably are right.

I have to use the fittings off of my old tubing on a Volvo brand and you might also if tubing.

Where is the lever he is flipping? I am not familiar with how they plumb the FEL on that tractor but can not think of how changing a hyd valve would cause any gears to grind.

If they use the same set up for the FEL as they do to add aux remote hyd on the 135 you raise the 3 pth hitch all the way to divert the fluid to the aux remotes. I would have thought that is what they do on the FEL.

Could he be working the lever for the PTO thinking it is for the 3 pth? If so it would grind if he is not using the clutch. Now I ask, is there a pump on the PTO shaft for the FEL?

As to drawings, no doubt a MF dealership would have manuals. You might find them for sale there are on ebay.

I have a son in law who grew up semi on his grandfather's farm and last Saturday he used my finish mower to cut stuff it was not made for. It is hard to realize just cause it is on a tractor does not mean the cutter is for lawn only. At same time I have cut heavier grass than it was made for if just a little with slow speed and lift up.

Not picking on anyone but chuckled at your reply on the post of changing the hyd oil. To me sort of like the mower deal, preceived opions. I am sure no insult was meant. I rather grill a steak for someone than change mine. The getting down and up to me is not a lot of fun.

As to the gears and such think you have right idea there, use clutch, change lever, release clutch and what happens?

On the disking, I have no idea the true size of your tractor just think it is about 20 HP or maybe little higher. If so it is not likely it would handle a disk that would handle your pasture. Packed dirt with grass established is about as hard as it comes to cutting with a disk. It takes a lot weight on the blade. It is my thought (and I have never used on a tractor) a tiller would be a better choice. They do make them for your tractor.

No idea if you know this but when it comes to implements you are mounting on the 3 point hitch you not limited to any brand. If you find a friend who has equipment the size you need and could borrow or rent it for a test that can be a great way to be sure of what is best for you.

Not an owner of either brand in tractor but it would be my thought the JD will be better option long term. I think JD makes that size tractor themselves while MF contracts out all models is my understanding.

At least here the JD also has resale value better if that might ever be important.

I have no idea the type of lift control your JD has but will share a thought on something used on old Fords that might solve you issue. The old Fords had a lift that would jump every few seconds or many did. Terrible when plowing a crop. Locally they develop what they called skids which were bolted to the cultivator and adjustable heights slides on them and the lift would be fully lowered with the slides (not skids) supporting the plow. Worked very well. Sort of like the skids on a tiller.

Jeff, knew what your opinion was of them. Let me say it now, JEFF was right ONCE. Possibly more.

Auerbach, at least my bank told me it was reversible. Paid with Debit Card. That had me concerned for I knew credit card probably was no problem to get credit.

Don't know your mower but many of them are off the shelf parts. Have you just taken the old ones to your dealer, any Ag Parts store such as Tractor Supply or Northern Tool even?

I have no idea what safety switches your tractor may have but hold the key to the start postion with all levers and pedals in the position they are suppose to be due to safety switches for the starter to work. Then take each lever one at the time and move it very slowly and see if it happens to be just slightly out of adjustment preventing the circuit from being closed.

Frank, Murf, the fittings that came on my M6800 Cubit are mounted on steel tubing with the outside of the quick disconnect not mounted. You push the hose in to inserted and give it a tug and it will pull out, as long as no pressure on it. Did not know how much I liked that until one was damaged and replaced it with much lower price Pioneer Brand which requires the outside sleeved pulled toward you to insert or remove the male end. Last I checked the Cubit fitting was about $70 or $80 each for the female fitting. Might make a good Christmas gift from the tractor. :)
