It would surpise me if your tractor did not have a built in over running pto. Think they are required on tractors built for the US. If you don't have a over running pto a rough cut mower should push it with you try to stop wheel travel.

Your pto shaft is smooth with a shear bolt correct? If so, are you sure you are using the full diameter and the proper grade of bolt? If you are are you sure there is nothing binding in the baler? Just thought about your electric clutch, does it shear the bolts when you are engaging the pto or while running? Is there any way to feather the pto engagement if shearing then? Look in your manual. Also if shearing the bolt then are you engaging it without load on the baler and at low engine rpm? If there is no way to feather the engagement and you are doing so at high engine rpm would not surpise me for something to give.

Your tractor pto is 540 rpm, correct?

I can believe trufs are easier on lawns than other tires. But as I have stated before cut a lot of grass even with tractors that were in the 6,000 to 8,000 range with R -1s with no real issue. Just don't turn those front tires sharp as they dig in. Now, if lawn is wet I would stay off however on the slope in my mother in laws yard must use trator with loader tires when it is wet as mower with truf tires can not climb it without spinning and really tearing up that turf. Tractor with truf tires probably would climb it fine also but the loader tires leave very little mark. That being a 2,000 lb or so CUT. Then the issue is the wheels on the RFM.

I like auerbach's comment if it cooled it properly when new.

If it did then something changed. As he pointed out to check for leaks in the sealed system and there is also the possibility some part in that system is also not working as it should and also there is possibility there is an air leak (gasket damaged or missing) in the cab or some heat source since new such as insulation that has been damaged or removed.

I would have thought Kubota would have had specs on their blades that any supplier would have been meeting for the same part number. If not then you could have blades that would not match being bought at one time due to inventory.

If I only could get my brother to understand the tank with no air in it, makes the pump come on and then off with just opening any faucet is killing the motor! Hey, even the tanks with the air bladder in them need attention over time.<br>

OK, let me ask. The irrigation systems at least the few I have seen for crops have NO tanks. The greater the pressure the greater the radius the water is shot. OK that can vary if the pressure drops and I like Ann's suggestion on that. But if your sprinklers are able to handle the max pressure and gpm then it would seem you could forgo the tank just realize the pressure may vary. Is that wrong?

Ken, my IP company uses Barracuda and it is not that great. It often catches valid emails and allows plenty like Frank was talking about. I can click on "whitelist" all I want to and it will stop the same valid address sending again. They don't provide a same list option for spam which makes no sense to me. It might be the way they have it set up but to me it is not good.

To me all hyd driven machines do not have a hydrostatic transmission. My ztr mower uses hyd pumps and motor combos on each wheel, my CUT uses what I think is true HST, and my excavator has a drive motor on each track being powered by the engines hyd pump. On the excavator I don't think there is anything considered to be a transmission. On the mower they call it pump/motor combo (or such). <br>

Hardwood, notice comment in another thread you thought you may have hurt some feelings on this one. I don't think so and hope I said nothing that gave you that impression. When it comes to asking for preference such as type of trans to me all shared the reason for their preference and if anyone got their feelings hurt, that was they were looking for hurt feelings.

It is always good to me to hear the options and the why behind them. I have a good friend who uses the shuttle trans and he really likes his. Has he ever used a hst, not sure but if you ask him he has no reason to try one.

This may not work for you, but there probably is a shop around you which builds steel hyd lines. They may can make what you need. You need to be sure what they build handles the pressure you need. If you ask a couple of places who make the hyd hoses they probably can tell you who makes the steel tubing.

With two engines doing the same time with the common factor fresh fuel..I really would look at that fuel. It might be a good idea for you to drain the tank of one and refill with fuel from another source and see if that solves your problem. But if poblem with fuel the filter(s) could be shot.

Be sure what ever brand you go to buy that you find out about replacement parts and I don't mean asking a clerk at TSC or such. TSC here stocks very few parts. If you need a seal or a spindle or belt or blade you don't want to wait a week or more for it to be ordered and that is if they can.

If you consider a used one you want the manual or need to get one if possible. Be sure the gear box oil is at proper level (often a small pipe pug) and the sinpdles are tight. Should come with PTO shaft. It is proper to ask to see it work before buying.

Ken,let's give it a few hours before saying for fact it was clogged filters. At same time it only takes a little water in the fuel filter to shut a diesel down, well mine anyway.

Have any of you seen the show running on the History Channel showing the building of JD newest combine. Has a grain header of 30 some feet, 9 liter (turbo I think)engine, gain bin has a much capactiy as machine weighs. They showed how they have tractor trailers of stock and JD mechanices that follow the contract combiners. On the paint their goal is for it to look as good when the person goes to sell it as when they bought it so they get top dollar. It ran twice last night. They gave the price range and it was from $2??,??? to I think $3??,???. Do remember they said more than most farmers houses cost.

If you look at the first gas farm tractors they were running about same hp as today's compacts or subcompacts.

Ann, based upon what I found it looks like your info is correct. But this I know, at the current price of mid $4 for corn, glad I rented my land this year. With the yeilds some of the corn belt gets that may work but our lands yeilds much less but input cost are really only lower in land rent.

Adding to Hardwood, a piece of wire or string even can wrap around the bolt between the blade and the stump jumper and bind the blade up. If you ever used one of the slope cutting models you quickly understand how free the blades are when you hear them falling as the rotation slows with the cutter vertical.
