I would agree with Joel for more than he is saying. Parts down the road. If they could not help you on the pto connection, do they have blades? I have been told many if not most flail mowers are imported from Italy. Have no idea if accurate or not. Know that many of the boom flail mowers I have seen were. Those all looked to be very good cutters, materials and workmanship. Was very pleased with one I ran for a couple of years other than parts. It took months to get a set of cutters for it. kt

How about when draining a tub full of water? And if you have a second toilet does it flush fine? May help you narrow it down. kt

It sure is fitting this morning to awake to hear of the hostages in Columbia being freed. Congratulations to those who did the planning and worked it. Two things here, one it is amazing how quick time runs and how long it can be before you realize you are missing someone. Second seems strange to say how you miss a person who you never heard his voice.

I agree and am sure all do hope all is well for him. Same time miss some others who were here and now less visible if still around. It is shame when a person is not there, not to be missed. kt

Ken, the same chain saw I mentioned above locked up a few years ago. Had to replace a lot of parts. Asked what caused it and the shop who did the work; who sold the saw and only ones who ever serviced it said, the fuel mixture was set too lean. Did not bother them at all the 3 or 400 repair bill. kt

It seems if it was as much fluid as you say, it would be easy to tell if your hyd fuild was way low and if so it was that, but if it were full or near full it was fuel. At first thought you could tell be the smell but you may not. kt

Hard to believe if the cutter is only three months old it would be rusted so tight unless it has something like salt or fertlizer on it some how. I fully agree with Joel but be 100% sure you are getting it released. If you have the new shaft in hand look at it carefully to be sure there is no spring loaded release.

BTW, the cut shaft, don't toss it, you probably can buy the replacement shafts for it using the ends which is much of the cost. kt

Frank, it is amazing what we choose to believe and then what can never be proven to suit some. The rover probably was picked up by some aliens of the moon on their way from the JFK investigations where they sat dressed as Big Foot. They are able to do such travel thanks to the 300 mpg carb. kt

When Joel is saying little heat he does not mean a little hand help propane torch for soldering copper lines. He is referring to more than that. Been there, tryied that. Welding/cutting torch heat works. You need to heat the pully and not the shaft and heat it all around the shaft. Also large gear puller with rust penetrating oil may work. Don't forget, heated pully will be hot to handle. Been there also. kt

If the line that is getting hot is a much smaller line than the others, yes it can get very hot. The gases used have changed so the 134 means nothing to me. Are you sure the 134 is proper for your system? Some of the older systems will not take some of the newer coolants used. Take a temp check of the air coming right out the vents. If that air is cool, it may be the cooling is being lost as EW is saying. If not, probably your cooling system. IF the tubing on each side of the dryer is about the same temp for same diameter would doubt your dryer is the issue. No idea on the expansion valve question. You have checked to be sure your coils are all clean? kt

How are you sure the engine is not overheating? Because there is no thermostat? If there is waterpump problem or clogged radiator removing the thermostat would not solve that.

I had a tractor that did similar to your's. Turned out to be a wasp in the fuel tank at certain fuel level it would float over the fuel intake and shut off the fuel. Do you have a clear fuel filter or water seperator. When it acts up how is the fuel level in it? Even though you have had the problem for a while, are you sure you have clean fuel? Does any other engine get fuel from same tank? If not check it. Could possible be even where you buy from. kt

Is the reason they are wanting to sell make sense to you? Seems they did not have it long. Did they buy it for a project and it is now complete, are they tight financially and need to reduce debt or get cash? The reason for the sale may give you insight also. kt

BH, that tractor was used a lot on the small farms in my part of SC, tobacco farms. It is a farming tractor. For that the weight is good. If memory is correct it comes closer to the Ford 3000 than any N model.

Based upon memory again, not sure on power steering or not, never have seen a four wheel drive model, dry brakes (not as good the more modern brakes), had a good lift (better than the Ford N's and 601) for cultivation use. Believe you will find it has a two stage clutch for PTO use. In this area they carried a good reputation for farm use. MF used two remote hyd set ups, one built in and one dealership added on. Think they offered this on the 235. The added on model required the 3 pth to be fully raised to use the remote and believe it did not has as much pump capacity either. The added on system is on top of the trans where the factory model levers were with the 3 pth and draft lever were. This tractor has the steel rims which were the lowest price rims. If it is British built model it was there best finish one. NAPA did carry a lot of MF parts.

As to price, MF has not held its price as well here as has Ford or JD. You do not sell as many new ones either. kt

May not be true but my understanding is car dealers make as much or more on the financing and warranty as they do the auto.
