leejohn, you may find it benefical to place a narrow piece of tape on your temp guage when it is at what you know to be normal operating temp if a little movement in the guage is really a large temp rise. That way, you will not have to rely on memory for the exact location on the guage. kt

Joel, just stumbled across this.

I have used box blade to pull small stumps, push logs into piles, pull dirt around, cut down high spots and such. For some things really prefer a scrape blade. How you can roll dirt or bed it with a box blade as you can with a scrape blade that has rotation and angle adjustments is beyond me. There are some lighter weight blades that have an ajustment that allows you to shift the blade to a side. This may be an option for you.

Joel, you might could have another set of mounts added to your box blade so you can mount it offset to fully cover one set of tires, for me would be the right tires. With your ability to find odd items you might come up with a set up that would allow you to slide the box blade to either side giving you more flexibility without using a wider blade. However, it would try to pull your tractor sideways.kt

Greg, you missed Joel's reference to the manual when the post began "I have no manual". But I just saying don't get you skiwies in a twist there. ;-)

It would hit me if a person cleaned the reservoir and the lines they would have cleaned any filters or sediment bowls, but that is my thinking, which could be way off. I mean, filters and sediment bowls are designed to be cleaned and replaced and lines and reservoirs are not often taken loose to be cleaned, are they? Well then I have Kubota and Volvo, could be green has to have those removed or cleaned as part of normal maintenance. Please, I am not being rude or smart, well not real smart. Just we each one look at things from a little different point at times and you may be 100% correct on the kill system. My orange does had manual kills and if someone not knowing better or for what ever reason were to pull them, I doubt that would come to my mind as they have never been used by me. kt

Zino, that's great, easy to fix.

A few years ago a brother in law told me he had a car that did this and carried it to mechanic after mechanic with none finding anything wrong with the engine or the reason. Went to a gas station and the young boy who pumped the gas (remember full service) asked him is his car would run for a short while and then cut off and so forth. "How did you know?"; his answer. There is a radiator cap on the gas tank! Now do you remember when they were interchangable, if so your are, well, mature is a good way to say it. kt

Will not even pretend to know what those temps are like other that getting something out of our freezer.

Joel, I have used a face shield like for a work shop for such as it will help block direct wind, a bigger problem with wind from behind you and may help or make it worse on a side wind but they are open to where moisture does not normally build up. Of course you could just choose not to breath while wearing it. Understand that would prevent the moisture build up. kt

Feel the need to put a warning here: do not try that while operating equipement until you know how not breather will affect your response time.

The Tundra I have came with Firestone and had some of the funniest flats I had in years. Not since Uniroyals on a Ram which also had strange flats. Those two companies are the same now. So guess the tires are the same design and such. Had broken wrench, large nail, changeabel screw driver bit (5 inches long or so) and such. All on paved roads plus others. Was looking to replace the Firestones due to all the flats and happen to tell the dealership I was talking to I did not want any more Firestones. To which he said, boy do they pick up the stranges things and are pierce by them, a hair pick (for alfro hair does) and chicken bone being two he mentioned. SO, it was not me, rather the tires. He thinks it is the thread pattern some how. Both sets were replaced with Michelin and had no more flats.

As to Goodyears, my wife's car has gotten great mileage on Goodyears for her car replacing Michelin. They are Goodyears top of the line for her car. Now the Michelins that came on my Ram, were cheap made tires. Had dealership tell me they could not even buy those tires. I know why. kt

yooperpete, do they still use plotters? I thought they had ink jets now that were less. I have a son in law who draws house plans and he was able to go with a large ink jet for less than plotter is my understanding. Have not seen his printer as it is not in his office so it may not handle large enough paper for you. He is using like 2 by 3 feet sheets I think for house plans. kt

A point on Dell I did not know and do not like: I had an extended warranty on a Dell with Dell. Called by Dell and was placed on my Dell charge account with all paperwork showing Dell. So the extended warranty was Dell right as that is who I called and they handled the claim and so forth. Turns out was not Dell's extended warranty. They sell the rights to others to call their purchasers using Dell's name and charge accounts and so forth. I did not like that at all. To me that is terrible misleading. Ended up causing a major problem for me as the warranty company who then contracted with a local tec (read not an employee) had no control over what he did or did not do. Allowed who I thought was a Dell employee to take on work he was not qualified for that cost me a lot. To which Dell said sorry and so did the warranty company. As I told them each of your present all of this as Dell to me which Dell told me they understood but it was not all Dell. What bull crap. No Dell for me. kt

Murf, that was the one I thought you were talking about until I read which golf course. So did you visit here or work on one or more than one of the courses? As to tip, I will tell them you will be right in to handle it! :) kt

There really are enough places of only BBQ or that BBQ is a big part of their menu you could eat at a different one each day for a couple of weeks. The best BBQ place in this part of the world is suppose to be a old country store about 60 miles from Myrtle Beach, that still cooks it over wood. No seating and have been told by more than one, DO NOT ASK for the HOT BBQ sauce. :) We can save that for ole Jeff, old son. There is another one that is also a hole in the wall who is nearer that has the BBQ cooked over wood. You would think the building is about to fall but what is really going to fall is the juices in your mouth. Only problem with both of those places is they are only open such a limited time. Man, now where can I go tonight for BBQ!!

Well on the same line, Fatz and Sticky Fingers both small chains have good BBQ also. Fatz ribs only but Sticky Fingers has a big selection of meats and styles of BBQ.

Not sure now who mentioned it here but shame so many people don't know the difference between "grilling" and BBQing. No all meat cook on a fire is not BBQ.

Today MTD is more labels than listed above. Such as Troy Bilt, Cub Cadet, Yard Man, Bolens, White Outdoor, and others. It may be the only manf. Lowes sells now in mowers. kt<br>

Jim, have no idea about dealership options for you, but for me a 60 mile drive made a lot of difference in used price. I found the compact tractor model did not hold it's price as well in true farming country as it in more urban area. kt

Not sure how to make this work, but try giving her a pile of cash when you go to trade and tell her what ever is left you can spend say 50% of it on what ever you want, other than what ever it is you are buying (such as car).

Or since it is only money and it seems there is an abundance, more tractors and such seems the quick solution. She gets the fan and you get a tractor. Might be a win win deal there yet. kt

I would look around and see if I could find a boom from a wrecked or scraped out machine. A boom from a very small excavator or backhoe would probably be ideal. Your scrap yard my have the ability to help search for such. If you could find such it may provide what you need with little work including valves and cylinders. kt
