From some one who has never handled a coulter, could you not find one with the id you need and have it cut down on the OD? <br>

Another question, in my part of the world I have used a couple of different brands of bottom plows and never seen a coulter on the smaller plows. Here they disk or burn first if need be. kt

I don't beleive anyone's lift should be as you said your's is. Have you checked your fuild, tried the adjustment for lift speed opened it further, tried replacing the filter and such? I am assuming you are not lifting a load with the tractor just ideling.

I am sure there is more than one way to fill a tire, on a tire repair I jacked up the tire, no air in it and put the antifreeze needed in it by hose and funnel. Was not bad at all. Then used water hose to fill the water. I know the tractor shop has an portable air tank with a opening they poured antifreeze in it pressurized the tank and it runs right in the tire. Other than the port to fill with antifreeze looks just like normal air tank. kt

Try doing a search at Kubota.com. They show it as a Gray Market tractor not built for the US market. Decals are not in english, some safety features are not there and parts may be an issue. You will find some who have had success with Gray Market tractors and others will tell you to avoid them. kt

I tried a flail mower on my small Kubota about same size and liked it very much. Liked the offset to it. Only problem I found was turning with it was not as easy as the rotary mower due to roller on rear. Other than that I really like it more than the rotary cutter and agree with Murf they are easier on weight and HP requirements. As to the weight limit, much of the rotary cutter's weight is on the trail wheel.

EW, not sure I understand your backing up on the tree but if you are...be sure something limits the up motion of your cutter as you can jam the PTO shaft damaging your tractor (experience). kt

Hardwood, a breeze way like that here probably would be screened or glassed in. Now the other option is to build it large enough for plants in the winter and heat it. As to it not taking much heat, it would be 40 feet of outside walls so to me, it seems it would use a good bit of heat for the total square footage. Here our power company would tell you the heat needed for that. Murf is correct on the doors. kt

A lot of companies around here either rent or lease equipement and that is something you may find good for those larger jobs or to be sure on the size of a machine before you put down the real money. Most any machine is both too large and too small for all jobs. kt

eric, I am about like YP in I can not answer your question direcly on the model. Massey has units built in many countries, the products being current or old design varies to me a good bit. In larger tractor they have a pure price line and then a better quality line or they did a few years ago. The ones built in England seemed to be top notch, those from Turkey or Brazil (not sure which now) were less on current design, more price per horse power.

6000 hours I doubt you would see that on a small tractor just due to again what YP mentioned most are not run unless in a business near as much as many think they are.

I purchased a Case over a British built Massey a few years ago. The sales really thought I should go with the Massey as he said parts can be bought at any NAPA store for the perkins engine. It also weight a lot less than the Case. Have no idea the brand of engine they use in the small tractor. kt

Cub Scout, it will not help you directly but recently a person here went to prison for dealing in stolen equipment. I was told he hid part of in in a pond.

On a funny side, I heard of a farmer who reported his tractor stolen and got paid for it. The next year when he went to a field of his he found the tractor. Had forgotten where it was parked. Too many toys (tools) I guess. kt

I have had questions that got little response and others that went on. There are some of us who are only here on certain days of the week or certain times of the day. It would not be my suggestion to think any one source in life can provide all our answers at a moments notice other than God. Often he reuires our patience. Even my wife failed me this weekend on a serious question on planters.

JD, are you wanting wider tires are a wider set up with your tires. It seems you may be wanting to adjust you wheel base width. If that is what you are after and having no idea with the brand of tractor you have, many tractors rear wheels do have some adjustment built into their rims. You would do good to find a manual which should give you the options and specs and not just begin by taking tires and rims off. If no manual is available and your rims are a single piece you have only one option and that is to switch them from one side to the other (to keep tread in proper direction). If two pieces there are probably options on how the two pieces bolt together to give you more options in the width of the tires. On four wheel drive front ends would assume the only way to adjust that is will rim changes such as rear. Most 2 wheel drive tractors the front axles have adjustment options. Note, if you run loader or such you may have a limit on how wide you are suppose to widen the front axle. Again, you need to get you hands on an operators manual for your tractor or the specs. A very real safety note, if you jack up your tractor to switch the rear wheels, remember the front axle pivots and you must have two jacks and blocks sets under the rear axle to prevent the tractor moving suddenly and becoming unstable or even falling and doing damage to property and persons. kt

I had about the same issue a couple of years ago, turned out to be a wasp in my fuel tank. As the fuel drained it sucked it over the outlet and the tractor would run out of fuel. Let it sit and it would run again for a few minutes. Found out it was in the tank by opening the fuel cutoff with filter off. kt

Reading some of this reminds me of a stump removal method a friend told me his dad used. He cut off the trees, planted peanuts around the stumps and turned hogs loose after the peanuts matured. They would root up the ground for the peanuts, loosening the dirt and stump. This was many years ago. Guess if you could get squirrels to bury acorns around the stumps that would work also.

Going back to the axe, I have known of people digging a hole large enough to cut the stump off a couple of feet below ground level. Some pines here can grow a major tap root. Not sure how safe that is, to be in hole with a stump being cut loose and you not sure how it will move when it is cut loose. kt

Sesails, as Hardwood points out time will take care of roots or many of them. There is room for variance here, I read you had dead trees and stumps removed. Does that mean most roots are gone at least those of size? Or must you remove them? If so I would consider a bull dozer with a root rake to remove the root trash.

You may find it beneficial to hire someone with a large tractor and heavy disk to first disk it cut roots your tractor and disk can not.

If the land is clear of large roots and stumps, you probably with patience (slow and over and over) can get it in good shape yourself. If you will slowly work the dirt with a disk or new ground cultivators (spring loaded shanks and small plows) a few inches at the time to loosen it and they will also do some leveling and then finish grade with either blade or field cultivator set up. Take your time, loosen the dirt with disk or such 2 to 4 inches and level and then do it over and over until you have what you want. You may be able to used something behind a disk or spring loaded cultivators to help level the just lossen dirt as you go. Many farmers do.

Been there done that, patience and time. If you have small stumps or large roots watch your tires, wood will damage your tractor very quickly. kt

Cutter and Anne, know now why I passed on the Grasshoper. A friend sells it just could not get comfortable with it.

Art and Murf, also remember push mower with 3 hp that cut very good and today that same size mower uses a 5 hp. I suspect the hp ratings have varied over the years. Could be due to epa or something else. kt
