40 years ago I was one of those kids that pushed the mower around with the gas can. I made $3 for a 1-2 hour lawn, a trimmer was a sickle. I had no overhead except gas and oil.

I did and, still do, as much of my generation have "Personal Responsibility" for my/our actions.

It scares the hell out of me today to ask a neighbor kid to come over and work. Stacking firewood, mowing, trimming the lawn. This is the law suit generation. The laws are stacked against hiring youngsters with out the proper working papers, insurance, etc.

What would happen to the vacation home, your home, your savings if a neighbor kid lost his toes under "your" mower?

I see in the trade magazines where owners that hire contractors are sometimes being sued for something the contractor did and got hurt because of his stupidity. Somehow the tort lawyers feel it is the owners responsibility because the contractor was hurt on the owners property. They might not collect a dime but how much money and time did you spend defending yourself?

I still hire relatives but I am very selective so I do most work myself.

Hate to sound pessimistic. But that is the way we're headed.

Hire a good quality lawn service with good insurance pay extra for a company that has english speaking employees.

I'll just add to Murf. I hope you pulled the main breaker.

Many times there is a reset button on the small generators themselves seperate from the breakers. Check there for a small button and be prepared to push it really hard.

2210 You should not need a photo. Lift the seat look for a small rubber booted button. There is a 2 wire cable plugged into it. Use a short INSULATED wire stripped on both ends bent into a horseshoe and stuff that into the 2 wire cable plug in.

You could also place a block of wood over the switch with the seat down and that should do it also. Except it is not comfortable to drive it that way.

Mine has had the jumper wire in it since day 1. JD has removed them 3X when in for warranty work and installing the BH. The SOB's made me bring in the PTO cover 1X before they would release the tractor to me after a warranty job. It will never go to JD again for any work.

Crunch The rockshaft should pick the hoe into exact position. There are adjustment blocks on the hoe mounting hooks. I should take the time to readjust mine. You should not "HAVE" to use the stabilizers. Yet knowing this system sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. Many times one pin will go right in and I release just a little pressure from rockshaft and reapply and it picks into place.

The 47 and 48 are the same mounting.

I have had to use the stablizers also to get pins to go in. The problem with the adjusters out of adjustment is if the hoe leans back and now you have to use the boom to put pressure on the hoe to push it back to the tractor and use stabilizers to lift up.

I think my dealer had the hoe up and down several times adjusting the adjusters. It's done on a level floor, not sure why unless hoe setting crooked could effect the pick. Pick the hoe into place, try pins, set down adjust adjusters retry pins and so on. The biggest trick is lifting and pulling hoe up and forward at the exact point for pins to slide in.

I never did understand why the rockshaft had to be adjusted so it hit the releif valve. So I really can not answer that. But I do slap myself in the forehead everso often when I do it. It's less the 1/8 inch of lever travel to hit the relief valve. But 1st couple of years hoe mounted perfect.

I have also been guilty of not pinning anything and setting it on the ground for a quicky job and intending to put right back on... 2 weeks later the whole thing is flat on the ground. Talk about scratching head how am I gonna do this... Hydraulic lines won't reach... I did it but it was not purty to watch...

The seat is a real PITA!!! Unless your hoses are set exactly just so... I typically climb onto tractor and face the hoe for much easier access to the hoses.

As I type this and reread and mull it over I do not see why you could not adjust the adjusters after the hoe is pinned and use the stablizers and boom to lift hoe up and forward with rock shaft into relief setting loosen adjust and retighten adjusters. You'd only have to swap hoses a couple of times. I'll try that... And try to let you know.

As well as I remember the 560 and I have a few hours on one, a gasser. It has a wet air cleaner. It is a 6 cyl. It is basically bullet proof.

If I lost power and my air cleaner pushed its oil out I would look at a plugged exaust. Maybe a bird built a nest in it?

Points, plugs electronic parts are always a good thing.

4 or 5 gray barnyard geese will keep all your cattails at bay. Get some grass carp also. My pond always looks good except in the fall when over 100 Canadian Geese land. I'm just not swimming in there then.

I know they are from north of the border they end their HONK with an "Aaa"...

It might make sense if the mower was not mounted correctly and it was moving side to side under the tractor.

There should be no way a correctly mounted mower should move very far.

Is the PTO coupler all the way onto the splined shaft?

I do not think these small compacts there is a big difference from country to country. Most times it's cosmetic, gearing for roads, lighting, hook ups. Bigger equipment can change fuel, electronics etc for emissions.

DEALER SUPPORT is the most important feature. What are your dealers like? How much parts inventory do they keep? How close are they to you?

What are you neighbors using? How do they like the dealers?

Have you tried a different pressure guadge? Sending unit? Partialy blocked line? Kinked?

Oil pump assembly sucking air some where? Hiarline crack in pickuptube?

What kind of oil?

Typically your well pump line is only live when the pump runs. Unless you have the pressure switch and all out at the well.

Run a seperate UF grade, 12/2 or 14/2, wire just under the sod. Me thinks it's the simplest and easiest semipermenant solution.

I'll throw in my $.02. I like the turfs. I backhoe, skid logs, mow, run in wet slime mud and all kinds of snow.

If it is real wet in the woods I throw on a pair of rear chains. Steep snowy driveways require chains also, no matter what the tire.

I would not have a R-4 on these light tractors. My second option would be ag, R-1, tires. But I have a yard not a lawn.

What kind of soils will you work it in? Clays, rocky, gravel, loamy...

Like Frank said the debate continues... Fat girls or skinny girls...

Ken I always store with the the pop top end down. Watch for damage to the rim. I only pull the plunger end off, the gun, to clean once or twice every couple of years.

My grease guns are never laid on there sides when stored they are hung by the pump handle and yes some of the carring fluid does leak out the bottom.

All that said ours at work are thrown, dropped, laid or carried in equipment in any way possible. Out of 40 or so guns I usually replace 5-10 a year. Many of the guns get run over... DON'T ASK ME HOW! It drives me crazy sometimes.

Typically you replace the bushing and the pin. If the seat for the bushing has been egged out it needs to be rebuilt by welding and then line bored...

Most folks don't understand how cheap grease is until they pay this repair a few times.
