Ken/Frank I lucked out on this gen it is a 30k. They did not have a 20k in stock.

So I ended up with a lot more gen than I have tractor enough to run. Reserve is always good.

Shut it down at 11:45 last night. It's right at 32F house holds heat ok and wood stove shut down to bare minimun because no fans to move air. Still no power at 5am. So back on gen at 5:30. Power suspose to be back on by noon. Only 103 customers affected, on this line.

Yard is a mess tree on top of big satellite dish, 15' of a tree top just missed my car, thats just what I can see from house with yard lights on this morning.

Frank I know about "Gun Envy", I see lots of $5000+ very accurate off the bench and the other ones see what I have but I do not shoot it cause it worth more unfired. My targets are usually much tighter. So they have ability envy and spend more in hopes of better groups. Time and practice make the shooter more than the price of the gun.

I'm looking at a .44mag level action rifle. Always wanted a lever action same reason you stated.

Your old Daisy is probably worth a small mint. The Red Riders are very much collector items today.

Big gun show in Syracuse April 21-22. I'm also looking for a 50cal BMG bolt action rifle.

If you want we can continue this via e-mail. There is another guy or two that use this site that is fairly compentent about firearms.

I can not see or know of any need for a sealant on the caps.

It might be excess thread locking sealer. Typically thread lock is used on cap and rod bolts.

BUT I am not a China engine expert and have only had a couple apart.

WH I'll buy what Frank is saying. Most generators are rebadged into a "Brand Name" for reconition. I have seen adds for the Titan brand equipment but do not remember where.

Unless you plan to use any of the off brands 24/7 they should last for a infinite amount of time. Remember all gen sets should be drug out 1 or 2X a year and exercised to keep every thing polarized and the other technical stuff that electrical/magnetic fields need to do to create power, ball bearing moved and lubed. I like to use mine for heavy rod burning. Its fun to hear the tractor grunt under load...

All that said we have a 460/3 at work I can not even beging to pronounce the name. It runs 60+ hours a week (most weeks) all summer every summer with no hiccups. It is mounted in back of a Cummins.

A 20" stump is gonna give you a 8' diameter hole. You'll end up with a root/stump ball 5'+.

The wet root ball is gonna be a real bear to move with a 44 size tractor. I have taken out several 24-30" pine. The tap root is almost impossible to break. The 48 hoe on the 44 tractor will not move a 5' wet root ball unless you really beat the crap out of the tractor to do it. If you beat it with the hoe and move the tractor to force it you will or may overpressure the hyd lines and blow them or bend cylinder rods.

I clean (lightly file edge do not sharpen) up the cutting edges of the bucket to cut the roots easier. Dig 3 sides of it cutting the roots as close as possible, usually 2' from stump sometimes closer, let it sit for a week or 2 and come back rattle the snot out of the stump shaking off dry loose soil.

At that point I get up close to stump, work the back side with bucket curl and boom lift. I have had to use a axe on the tap root if I could not break it or pry it loose.

My 48 hoe will turn the root ball over then. The 47 should also do the same the only major difference is the reach. Stumps require up close and very personal. The 47 should do fine.

TAKE YOUR TIME! IT IS WORK YOU JUST HAVE TO DO RATHER THAN WORK ON THE HONEY DO LIST! Spending 5-8 hours on a stump/s, on a warm spring day, with a couple of breaks is always better than spending 2-3 hours inside putting away winter things or helping clean windows, or the rest of the stuff on the list.

It also justifies buying the BH to start with.

Yes they are the same. I'm not gonna disagree with anyone on the symptoms. But just because it clicks does not mean it's working. It may click and still not pull in.

That is if you have checked fuel flow to that point, ie: manual fuel shut off etc.

Mine has acted up 3X and it still puts me over the edge. There seems to be no ryme or reason when it happens. I take things apart clen the contacts and all is fine.

I would take a look at the injectors first and check pressure from pump. Timing is the next thing that I'm ah thinkin.

Never played with those kind so NFI on the timing steps. Some one smarter than me can probably explain how to check on that engine.

Bob check your owners manuel for the correct tire pressure, or check the tire itself, it should show the maximum pressure.

Frank I just finished a sandwich at work.

MAN DID YOU BRING BACK A FLOOD OF MEMORIES! Threashing meal. Mouth is just watering now. Fresh home made bread, taters, beef, gravey gobbs of butter, fresh veggies, thick slabbed beefsteak maters, more than I should ever admit to eating in one setting. Pies you name it. Wash it all down with gallons of lemonaid, ice tea...

Most of my dad's generation always had a huge lunch/dinner meal...everyday especially during harvest!

Our company has lots and lots of diesel powered gen sets, or hydraulic sets, to run our mobile equipment.

Typically the 3P generator is a 3P not either or. To get 1P all have transformers on them.

I have 1 gen set in the yard, it came off a large screen plant) I can not even begin to pronoun the name it runs every day (during the summer) with no problems. It has a transformer and I have no idea if we could use 1P & 3P at the same time.

I get a industry rag called Marine Diesel? It still comes as part of the dredging operation we had. You might try googling there. They have scads of marine gen sets.

I guess where I am going with this is: if you like the price I would not be afraid of it. The only thing needed is brushes or bearings and most of the sets now are brushless.

Rings are not complicated. Typically new rings hone cylinder to break the glaze and you are set.

As Murf and Jazak said do a "DRY" check first then a "WET" check of compression. The difference "I THINK" should not be more than 20%.

To add to what they also said, did it by chance get run over full of oil?

Art the only thing that looked out of the ordinary was all the rust and casting junk that was into the inner O-ring and the inner was badly decomposed and the outer O-ring appeared thin in the same spot.

Bought new sleeve and piston.

Got the gaskets at Clinton a lady there knows you. Had to go to Frankfort for crusher parts and did tractor parts as side trip.

Tractor now running very well no problems. (maybe I should not have said that)

It's not recommended but you can.

Here's how I've done it: Get a 3/8 cable the lenght you need (within reason 20-25'max) put a stove plug on one end and your welder receptical on other.

Make sure your stove is a 50amp breaker and the cables are at least 8ga.

Good thread. I "NEVER" miss a day at work. When I am down I only feel miserable for a day or so. This year I was down 3 times. Had to leave work because of stomach, puked all night and runs all day. 2 times with a chest congestion and cough 3-4 days each.

I do eat alot of Peter Pan this time of year... Now we're on Skippy.
