I agree a small truck is a handy machine. I bought a Dodge one ton with a combination livestock/grain box and hoist new in 1976, it finally gave out in about 2004 or 5. It hauled everything from corn to crushed rock, lots of trips to the junkyard, etc. It was far from big enough to be a commercial hauler, but big enough for my own use. The tags were lots less than a big truck. I bought a goose neck trailer for the pickup after the "Tonner" gave out, but sold it later after we quit farming.
The gooseneck and bumper hitch trailers have just about put the mid size farm truck out of the picture here, I haven't saw a new farm truck in years other than semi's with a hopper bottom, they are getting thick as fleas around here. I'm starting to see some of the nre streched hopper bottom trailers with a third axle lately. I think when hooked to a tractor with a cheater ahead of the tandems they can scale 98,000.

I think things are getting better in the hitch world making interchangability much easier. In the past in an attempt to keep you buying their brand of impliments International Harvester and Allis Chalmers come to mind as having their own design of hitch on the tractor that only their brand of impliments would fit. Also some of the short line builders of three point equipment didn't comply with standard dimensions of the catregory one like most of us little guys have or on up thru the bigger tractors and impliments of category 2, Cat. 3, Cat3W, and Cat. four for the really big ones. Finally I think now all major builders are using the SAE standard three point hitch.
I have a Land Pride Category one quick hitch with the adjustable top hook. So far everything has fit the lower pins but i have had to adjust the top hook to accomidate some iof the impliments. I did modify a couple older impliments to fit the quick coupler rather than modify the quick coupler, I'm glad I did it that way because those old machines have long since bit the dust and been replaced with ones that fit the quick coupler.

My impression is that if the quality of their equipment matches the low ball quality of their free loader advertising campaign then the machines would be close to junk.

This must have been at the national matress convention, if there is such a thing.<br>
I have seen the table with the zillion triangles that swells and shrinks. If I remember correctly it is built somewhere in Germany, I think. From what I've read on them they are a bit pricey. A represenative of the company comes with the table to assemble it in your dining room and stick around a bit to make sure if functions properly.<br>

I've never been one to be comfortable when in a huge crowd so going to big stadiums never appealed to me no matter what the occasion, Just too much of a country boy I guess.
I'm afraid I would be so overwhelmed by going to an event like the Super Bowl that I wouildn't enjoy it at all. I've often said that I wouldn't go to a big time thing like the SB or the Daytona 500 if someone gave me the tickets.
I did go to a Twins game once when our daugeter took us as a gift for our birthdays, that was a long time ago when Kirby Pucket was their star player.
I've been to two Iowa football games in my lifetime, both times because someone couldn't go and gave us the tickets. That was big time enough for me but nothing compared to the SB.

My limited experience with putting a thrown track back on the sprokets was when I was kid just out of high school working for a road const. crew. I think it was a D6 Caterpillar that threw a track in the mud of course. Just the memory of that experience would make me want to replace or tighten,or both, whichever it took real soon to prevent that from happening again.
Just that one incident was enough to last me a lifetime.

I don't know the model numbers of the Honda's I've dealt with, but I would guess the engines on the grain augers are in the 20+ HP range and the power washer likely is a smaller one.
The engines on the augers I think are a two cylinder, anyhow they have a different sound than a ordinary single cylinder engine. I'll pay attention next time I'm around one. I do remember someone saying the auger engines have an automatic shutdown feature if the crankcase oil becomes too low, so apparently they have pressure lubrication.

I'd have to go look to be sure but I think the engines on our Deere 345 mowers are Kowasaki, or however you spell it.
They are a V twin vetical shaft water cooled engines. Other than oil leaks that aren't hard to fix but are annoying they have been trouble free. The lead mower man at the Deere dealership says they have several of that model in excess of 2000 hours without an overhaul and still going. I think ours have about 600 and 800 hours respectifuly
I do know the engine in our Gator is a Kowa-however you spell it, horozontal shaft 610 CC water cooled. I've heard some horror stories about those engines, but so far no problems here.

Welcome to the group, we try to help, sometimes it is a bit beyond us, but we'll always try.
We've had several Gators but never an elecrtric. What sort of a battery setup do they have? Are there several cables and connections that could be old enough to have corrosion creeping in giving you bad nconnections?

I had several drawers to make for a desk recently, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
I must have been daydreaming or something as I ended up with all right hand drawer sides and no left hand ones.

Yes, I think the "Gator" type blades regardless of brand would be a problem on Deere decks. My 345's are ten years old so maybe they have a better deck design now. I did notice on some new riders in front of the Deere store that had a garden hose coupler on top of the deck, maybe this is their answer to keeping the clippings buildup out of the deck.
I've used their high lift blades along with the grass chutes hanging on a nail in the shed for quite a while and get along pretty good. It seems that just the slightest wear off the sharp square corner of the cutting edge and any wear off the edge of the grass throwing portion of the blade makes a day and night difference between new blades and blades that look good enough. We discussed here a few years ago about the first half to three quarters of an inch or so of the out end of a blade doing 90% of the cutting and throwing.
Like they suggest using a penny to measure your tire tread I use a quarter to judge my blade wear. If the round off on the end of the cutting edge of a blade has a radius greater than a quartet, the blade is replaced. It does make a world of difference having crisp new blades.
I "Think" my Gator blades were a generic brand, but I do use Deere brand for the good blades.

My 1975 Dodge one ton "SHORT" wheelbase was real easy to turn around being a short wheelbase but if you put much in the box the front tires seldom were on the road.
I never knew if the tonner really had a heavier frame and all that or just a dual wheel equiped rear axle.
It was a tough old bird, almost always overloaded, ran till 2004 or 5, till it died. I placed an ad in the local farm paper that read;

FS; 75 Dodge toner box and hoist DOES NOT RUN, $1,500.00

I didn't think I'd get a call, I probably had ten calls. The first guy that called took it over the phone sight unseen. That still amazes me, but even more amazing is that I met the old Dodge Tonner on the road last summer.

P S; I knew that old heap had been mine, I could tell by the dents.

Long time ago when I was a senior in High School the cold war with the former USSR had people building bomb shelters worrying about the Russians sending nukes over the north pole and all that. I remember a science teacher we had who told us that the Russians would never be a problem but in time China would be our biggest threat.

Our present Gator a 620i has seat belts and a roll over protection structure. We had several older Gators that did not have a roll cage or seat belts. I don't know if they were an option for the 6 X 4's but I'd check with a dealer, last I knew a 6 X 4 was still a current model.
I'm not advising you to take any chances but a standard Gator has such a low center of gravity and wide wheel stance that I think you would slide off the seat long before it came even close to tipping over. I've driven them on slopes that look pretty chancy but never worried about an upset.

I don't have a CDL but have often wondered about some of the rules that seemed odd, or inappropriate.
I guess the one that digs me the most is saomeone who probably never drove anything only a regular auto to and from work now is retired, buys a big motorhome with a car in tow going down the interstate weaving all over the place, no CDL needed. I have followed some of them weaving all over the place in a heavy crossswind that most truckers would have the common sense to sit it out till the wind goes down.
I have a neighbor who is a volunteer fireman, he does have a CDL but tells me this. Anyone with a regular drivers liscence as a volunteer fireman can legally drive a fire truck to and from a fire. Now the odd part, this same person with a regular drivers liscence cannot legally drive a Firetruck in a parade without a CDL.

You're both wrong, they always been called "Swing Hoes" on this part of the earth.
I never knew that Massey Ferguson built, or had one built for them a "Swing Hoe" till the neighbor bought one real cheap. It was sitting in a sale yard with one track off the drive sproket, he bought it as is where is. Things went mostly downhill from there, the tracks weren't the only things worn out. I never knew for sure what he did with it, "Swing Hoe" Heaven, I think.

It's so good that most all of us are still here to enjoy another Christmas with family and friends. Those of us here in the silver haired category, that is if we still have hair are losing a friend or relative a bit more frequently than in years past. As much as we miss them we must thank our maker that he gave us those friends and relatives to enjoy while they were with us.
Even with all the politics being thrown about as if a new manure spreader were being tested by John Deere, we do bury the hatchet about our differences of opinion for at least one day.
As was mentioned we do thank and appreciate those in uniform who chose to defend us while we sit secure in our peacefull world. We have a step Grandson in Afganistan who by God's will is still alive and well, we're not sure how long he is comiited for there but pray that God protects not only him but all the others there too.

Sometime in the mid 1970's is the last time I embarrased myself and whom ever invited me to play along in a game of golf. I think the Mrs. gave my clubs to Goodwill.
I never had the little generator on my bike but I did use up the extra Jokers and whatever other cards in a deck you never used along with a spring type clothes pin for a "Motor" sound. Those of you old enough to have did this will remember how it was done.

I had extremely good results using Bosch power tools when we ran the furniture plant. I've still got all of them. They seemsed to run on and on after others like Sears, Black and Decker and the others that went consumer line would give up the ship.
Two of my Bosch sanders are the little triangle sanders that look a good deal like your oscillating tool. I've wondered of the sanding pad can be removed and replaced with the cutting tools like is on yours?

I have a model of a D 7 Caterpilar on the shelf above my desk, the Mrs. never did take the hint.
I've always been kind of a tool freak so there are a couple sheet metal tools I have been hinting around about, but it probably won't happen.
I keep telling the Mrs. that a man only needs two shirts, one on his back and one in the washing machine so tools are the next most logical gift.

Deere has made so many models and model changes that I've given up trying to keep to date with them. I would have no idea as to the right price.
As was said if you are going to have a front end loader which is probably the most popular attachment for a tractor I'd pass and watch for a four wheel drive.
