Like Auer said space to work can be an issue, he had some good ideas. I'll just add that the strap wrenches work pretty good in tight quarters. In a nasty won't let go situation I have if there is room driven a long punch or screwdriver thru the filter for a lever to get it loose.

Is the top hose hot? That would tell you the thermostat is working if top hose is hot. Is a hose pinched or collapsed?
Starting with a cld engine let it warm up with the radiator cap off to see if you have circulation.

I don't keep up well enough on Gator prices to hazzard a guess. You've got quite a few hours, but I've heard of well over 5K hours on an original engine and tranny.
I'd check around with some Deere dealers who may have a used 4 X 4' on hand and go from there.

Not sure what you mean by a "Boom", but the tractor, loader and a mid mower and the bonus of it being 4 wh. dr. makes a nice package.
When tractors become twenty years old the condition has lots more bearing on the value than model year. Compared to a new one just the loader and the mower would probably eat up 6-8000. without a tractor.
I'm stepping way out of my territory by puting a value on any tractor but 5000. seems like a good deal if it is in decent shape. They will all have a few dings and dents at twenty years old, but the basics, engine, transmisson and hydraulics are your main concern. If those parts seem solid I'd go for it. Kubota has been around a long time and has dealers everwhere so parts and service should not be a concern.

I guess I'm wondering why if your tractor is a 2010 model why you are doing this yourself, it has to be under waranty yet, let the dealer handle the problems.

I won't give any Kubota advise but am a bit curious about your SMTA.
I used to collect and restore letter series Farmalls, but have since quit the restoration and sold down to three, two "H's" and Cub.
Something turned the SMTA's to gold the last few years, I guess because they were the first Farmalls with a TA. I never had one and am not in the market, but be warned the scalpers will be on you like ugly on an ape trying to swindle you out of the SMTA, no mater what the condition.
I haven't been to an auction for several years but I've heard by second hand info of them topping ten grand.

Seriously tho, your statement about your dealership being good to you. We've been preaching that around here for a long time, the color of the tractor isn't half as important as how a dealership treats their customers.

No, that's not the way a Gator should act.
Did you test drive it before you bought it? Did you buy it from a dealer? If so and this started soon after your purchase then perhaps the dealer will fix it for you.
If you're on your own to fix it then perhaps Gatoraider will hop in here to help out, I can give you a few maybe's but he can go right to the point. Let's wait for him, OK?

The parts guy or a salesman, not sure which, at a Deere dealership did tell me this spring that a PS kit is available for those models. The 700.00 seems right and I think he said it is an elecrtric unit.

I had a 4010 an older model,( 61-62?) sister to your 4020. I do know it had Deere's 24/12 system. The generator and starter were 24 the rest was 12. The early 4010's had no circut breakers so they were famous for as mine did catching fire if a short occured. I'm not sure if any 4020's were 24/12, but as Murf said if it has an alternator it likely is an all 12 system.

North Dakota is one of my favorite states. I haven't been to every state and likely won't. The far northwest and far southwest states I haven't seen so I can't judge them but have been to most of the rest of our country.<br>

The deep south is too hot and too many bugs and snakes, The east is just too many people packed into too little space, I like wide open spaces and air that ain't been breathed before.<br>

So with all that Kansas on north to the Canadian border, Iowa of course, Wisconsin and Minnesota are my favorite states.<br>

People often ask why we don't go down south for the winter, my reply is, why would I drive that far to sit around and play bingo with a bunch of old people, I can do that right here in Iowa.<br>

Maybe just a few more details;
Are there any functions that do work? Does the power steering for example work and not the loader valves or three point?
Is your tractor a hydro or a gear drive? Do those functions work?

Just curious why it concerns you that only Deere offers the snow blade? Normally equipment offerd by the base machine builders fit and operate better than aftermarket offerings.
I've never had a blade on a Gator but being two wheel drive would seem to be a negative unless lots of ballast were in the cargo box to help you back out of a drift.

Mine is the 620i engine in the XUV. I've never timed it for sure but the dealer said about low to mid thirtys.
The new three cyl diesel is supposed to go mid 40's, that's just too fast for me for farm chores and to have grandkids running it around.
I can't believe it will be as trouble free as the old 4 X 2 that didn't have any CV joints four wheel drive componets, and all that, but so far no problems.

I won't give any advise being I'm not Kubota person, but have a question. Does the forward pedal come up to normal neutral position and the tractor keeps going or does the pedal stick down?

I'm sure the TX's are carbureted instead if injected but in either case I'd be the last to tell you to start adjusting something I know just enough about to mess it up. Even if the warranty is up I think a call to the dealer might be your surest way.

PW; I'm not familliar with what type fitting you are dealing with between the hose and the fitting on the power steering housing. Deere has a history of using some odd ball things only availabe at their parts counter. The only threads I'm famillair with that actually are the sealing factor are "national pipe thread" type. I doubt that pipe threads are used in your application so the Loc Tite probably wouldn't help.

KT; Yes, generic Roundup has been available since the patent rights ran out, and usually at a lower cost. So long as the label ingredients match you're getting the same stuff. Kinda interesting how the cost of "Genuine" Roundup came down by about half or more when the generic came along. Do you suppose the makers of the Genuine stuff are now selling it at a loss now???? HUMMM.
The disk issue, my last disk was sold on our farm auction in September of 05. We old timers that had pulled a disk since an "H" Farmall would pull an eight foot tandem had a hard time getting it thru our heads as to what a terrible soil compaction machine that a disk really is. Untill the modern field cultivators with enough clearance to let the trash thru without plugging a disk was about the only machine to woek down plowed ground with that didn't plug up.

In reference to the big egg recall a while back. One of the giant chicken houses is fairly close to us and the local news has been following the story pretty closely.<br>
I'm, not defending the egg producers, if they were at fault then they should be responsible for the problems they caused. Now here is the amazing part. Some obviously city born and bred lawyer who is representing some of the people sickend by the eggs. He was given a tour of the egg farm yesteday, after the tour he spoke to anxiously waiting local reporters. He said that he would not devulge any important things he has seen but!!!! He was agast to find chicken manure and even saw a mouse in the chicken house. Sooo, chickens don't poop? And no farm boy here ever saw a mouse in the chicken house. WOW, what an educated fellow on egg production, and the green horn reporters seem to really "SCOOP" up the chicken poop information.<br>

Sorry, I skipped part of your question on how to get in there to work on things. If your cargo box has a power lift or a mechanical catch on a hand lift you can disconect the power lift ot mechanical catch and tip the box farther back.
