Things have gotten a bit rough and tumble around here for a couple days, I had my opinions of course, but they would have only added fuel to the fire. Murf our moderator and Dennis handled things just fine.<br>
Lets lighten things up a bit now, "IOWA SWEET CORN" it's ready, none better, a bit of bragging if you don't mind. <br>
Been having it at least once a day and have frozen a bunch for winter. Along with home grown tomatoes, new potatoes, fresh green beans, Yum. Now I'm sure they grow good sweet corn in Michigan, Canada or whereever the season is right for it. Have a mess of corn and enjoy the day.<br>

My 4310 is a 12/12 reverser so I can't speak for Hydros or other brands but I had a 4300 12/12 that came with rtegular Hy Gard. It had a lot of pump whine in the winter till I switched to Lo-Vis.
Does you three point hickups only happen with the hitch lifted to the top? I haven'toblem with the 3410, but used to have that happen on regular farm tractors. If I remember correctly it was an adjustment issue in the valve that connects to the control lever which tells the three point where to stop and stay.

Is you warning light on the fender flashing a code, a series of long and short flashes? If so post it and I'll look it up in a service manual. Is your tractor a Hydro or 12/12 power reverser drive?

Murf; Thank you for the prayers, ours along with lots of other prayer chain peoples prayers too, nobody can tell me they don't help. He is back on the job fulltime now and has been off of chemo for most of the summer, another scan is scheduled for September. Cancer has been beaten before and maybe he can beat it too.

Does it feel like trying to steer a later model tractor that has power stering with the engine shut off, hard to turn the wheel and doesn't move the front wheels very well.
I've never had one of the "Pump" I'll call it, units that has the shaft connected to the steering wheel apart, but I think there are lots of little valves, "O" rings, springs, and other dodads that will jump out at you if you take it apart, so I'd do that as a last resort. Perhaps something is clogged or a bent tube that feeds the unit under the steering wheel restricting the amount of fluid it needs to control the front wheels.
I've had tractors that the steering wheel would tend to turn slowly in one directon while you were using it causing you to take a new hold on the wheel every little bit. I never knew what caused it I just kinda ignored it and kept going.
I'm leaning toward the "Pump" under the wheel not getting enough fluid.

The distance you drive in 4wd will result in what's called drive line "Wind UP' whether you drive 150ft. or ten ft., it is till happening. The front wheels are designed to pull somewhere between 2-4% faster on the tire tread surface than the rears, this helps you steer better when running in soft ground. They tend to "Lead" the rear wheels and make a track for the rears to follow, otherwise the tractor would wander when you wanted it to go straight.
OK, now why you are breaking the axle, I'm not sure. Are you carrying a loader bucket with a full load of dirt or snow and at the same time having a ballast box or something heavy on the three point for traction? That situation could while in 4 wd. on a cement or blacktop surface tend to "Glue" the tires to the road restricting any slippage to compensate for the drive line wind up.
I don't know anyone who owns a 4100, but surely someone here on the board does who could share some info with you.

Glad to help. Yes if the amount added was minimal then I'd agree that a failed seal didn't happen.
I don't know if the LX and the MX use the same gearbox, but I don't recall ever seeing a drain plug on mine, so other than dismantiling the gearbox a suction gun is the only way to drain it.
Being we're not talking much oil to fill the gearbox, I'd drain, refill, then use it a couple times and repeat draining and refilling it, just to more completely get the water out. Oil cost's nothing compared to repair parts.

$16.85 per gallon isn't really out of line for the fluid that your owners manual recommends.
I just bought some Deere Lo-vis Hy Gard for pretty near the same price.
Kubota recommends the super UDT for the same reason Deere recommends the Hy-Gard, it's what works best in their tractors.

When you say "Will not Crank", do you mean the starter won't tun the engine over, or the starter turns it but it doesn't start?

Yes, you can do lots of things without anyone watching over your shoulder. I can point to a few sewer filter beds and septic tanks that were installed after dark to avoid a permit and inspection, and long as the people who did it were knoledgeable on sewer systems they work just as well as one with a permit.
A large diamater dug well with a concrete liner is just not seen around here so can't comment on the well it's self, so I have no experience to share on a concrete casing. I would however want to be dead sure that you have a perfect seal around the adapter where it goes thru the casing to keep any surface water from leaking in. A leak into a septic tank don't matter much but a leak into your drinking water well does matter.
I have in the past cut the opening and welded in a cast iron pittless adapter into 5-6 inch diamater steel well casings and helped the well man install the pump that hangs from the adapter.
This was before well permits and inspections were required in our county. Probably more than half of the newer wells here use a plastic casing now and I don't know how the adapter is fastened into the plastic casing.

I'm not the most computer savvy guy here and have no idea what a bookmark is and really no desire to learn, but I'm far in the minority here.

I have to agree with KT that creating closed loops of TP'ers getting off in a corner seems like other folks would say the HXXX with them snobs and go away.

Wow, that comes up to about 23,000 hours on the Gator. What do you use it for?
I don't remember the exact numbers but I've heard of some really high hour Gators, but not that high.

I did get the link from Messics to come up this time, and found the valve assembly page. Yes a lot more parts than I been used to with a common SCV valve on a farm tractor.
OK, now the "Shock Dampening Valve" you mention on the schenatic, I don't know if that could be your problem. I've not dealt with shock dampening valves in serviceing a common tractor valve unless it was called something else and I didn't realize it.
Strictly from my pint sized knowledge of hydraulics a "Shock Dampening Valve" would be in a hoe system to protect it from real sloppy clumbsy operators like me who jerk and yank way more than a seasoned operator does.
Again, please correct me if I'm speculating way too much here but likely a shock dampening valve would be modulated to have it open and close a tiny bit slower than a common pressure relief valve. My Wall Mart quality brain says that if it were not modulated it would only cause the shock to be worse???

Your code indicates a probl;em with the MFWD speed sensor circut. The service manual does not show the location of the sensor but does show a wire connector looking like it has three wires going thru it. The background of the connector picture looks to be under the center of the tractor near the little hydraulic cylinder that shifts the MFWD in and out of gear.
The manual goes on to explain how to test the voltage levels with a meter that should be going thru this connector.
I would first look for the connector and be sure it is properly connected together and that all the wires going to and from it are intact.
I am not the world's best when it comes to electical things so I won't go into the several paragraphs on how to properly test the system. I would have a fear of telling it wrong causing you to do something that might fry something expensive. If it were a mechanical issue I'd have no fear of giving you some instructions, but not electrical.

Sorry but I just had to vent. Everytimme I even look at one of our cheap crappy limp excuse of a drive shafts we are asked to use I get mad. The old square shaft square tube ones from the past when properly maintained would outlast the machines they ran by fifty years.

I've saw rotary brooms used on light snow that did quite well but never saw a stationary one at all. That doesn't sound like it would work very well if there were more than a dusting of light snow.
The half tire thing I have saw used in place of the loader bucket to push sloppy cow manure down an alley way to a holding pit. It was juat a home made thing but it did an excellent job, unless the manure was too dried or frozen.

Well yes, I knew I missed the boat somewhere along the line.

Oh, is that you I see standing on another dock watching the same boat sail away? Maybe they can turn around and come back for us. Well, I'm not sure you and I could be on the same boat, one of us would likely walk the plank before we got very far.

I'm not much of an electrician, but knowing what burned the first harness comes before buying a new one. I cooked one on a Deere once that was real pricey from them, but I learned later that an aftermarket one was half or less. I did it one wire at a time to keep from getting mixed up but even I could do it, amazing.
