Land Pride has been my brand of choice for quality for any three point equipment for a long time. Not the cheapest, but pretty rugged. I leave my box blade on almost all the time and find it one of the most usefull tools you can own. It is a good counterweight for the loader and in the winter I let the teeth all the way down to tear up the ice on the gravel driveway, I don't know if that is a recommended practice by Land Pride, but I've been doing it for years and nothing has broken yet.
I think they offer a hydraulic control for the teeth but I've never missed having it, it only takes a couple minutes and you don't adjust them that often.
The only caution I'll mention is when you said you want to push with the box blade. I do that sometimes and my box blade does habe a blade on the rear for pushing dirt but three point hitches really aren't meant to push with, there only function was meant to pull with, so don't over do the pushing part. I'd be a bit leary till I saw several of them around for a few years, then go back and look again. I know somebody has to be first, but I've gotten stung a time or two being the first kid on the block type thing. The known brands will cost more but at trade in time they don't say, "You want to trade in a WHAT?"

I never been close enough to read the size on the side of the tires. The tread looks to be identical to regular turfs, my guess is the rears are an easy 30 inches wide.
I'm sure there not an Iowa only tire, he may have gotten from some exotic place like Michigan.

I'm not aware of a mid mount shredder either, but I'm guessing by the letters in the model number and mostly by the price of 1299., that he means a rear mount rotary cutter. Any mid mount mowers I've looked at for a compact from Deere were nearly three times that money, unless it is a used one.

I know of a couple local dealerships that burn waste oil as a supplement heat source, ask around, they likely would be glad to have it.

I was with my Dad when he bought our first power mower, a "Cooper Cyclo Mower" sometime in the fifties and still remember the salesman telling Dad that you never need to sharpen the blade. Dad did sharpen it anyway, never is a long time.

I think our Deere mowers work the same as yours to hold the control switch till you let off the hydro pedal. I don't use the cruse often enough to remember, too many short passes that by the time I set the cruse it's timwe to turn around. Our SUV and pickup, both 07 Chevy are different than yous, probably every car company has a different idea how to have the cruse kick in. Reason I remeber how they work is because I use them most of the time. I often find myself going above the speed limit so I just let off the gas till it coasts down to limit speed then hit the button on the end of the turn signal stick and it locks in. I think two factors cause me to speed, one being the newer cars are more quiet and second I have "Farmer Hearing", or maybe the car really isn't any more quiet, I just can't hear it anymore, not sure. Someone said half way between a finish and a rotary. I don't remember if it was the school or the town that had a flail several years ago. On tghe flatest parts, it did an excelent job but in the rougher parts it scalped pretty bad. I don't remember what brand or how the rollers, etc. were set up. Frank.

It would be neat if those were for real. They would really put the squirm on Orange and Green. I'd buy a couple, one for a Sunday tractor and one to use during the week.
One of our old neighbors would drive nothing but blue Buicks, never traded one in, the newest one only got driven on Sundays.

The Land Pride tiller has did fine, no problems yet, but probably hasn't did five acres total in it's lifetime.
I don't really remember what it cost for sure, but in the 12-1400 neighborhood I think, that was a few years ago too, so likley would be more now just like everything else.
If my memory is correct I think mine is a 1558, and it is a forward rotation.

I have the Deere power beyond kit on my 4310 for a 48 hoe, and yes 300 bucks is too much for what you get, and again yes, somebody had to make the first one, God didn't create it.
From what I can gather in my somewhat stale knowledge being I've had mine quite a while here's my take on it.
The 48 hoe has it's own bypass valve, if you use a remote outlet for your source you will be dealing with two bypass valves one in the remote and the other in the hoe, I don't know the relief pressure settings of either one. Will that cause a problem? I don't know for sure. Possibly there is less flow due to smaller lines, etc to a remote rather than the three point circut, again, I don't know for sure.
The Deere power beyond kit takes it's source of fluid from the three point hitch circut, basicly eliminating the use of the three point arms once they lift the hoe into the mounted position. When youn switch the hose form the three point circut to the hoe you are dealing with only one bypass valve that is in the hoe. When switching the hose from the three point circut to the hoe circut do not have the engine running because the hydraulic system is dead headed with no bypass relief valve and will destroy something likely the pump.
On your other post about the block of steel along the valve bodys. I couldn't get your picture to come up, but from your description I don't know what it is.

I know this is an old thread, but just my experience might save someone a bit of greif. I used to have an all terrain forklit with a Chrysler gasoline powered industrual slant six. Carburetor was shot, overhaul it OK. Nope there weren't any parts on the planet or even a replacement carb that wasn't worn out too. A friend donated me an LP conversion, that didn't work in cold weather, so save that effort. Finally a local guy who works on old Fords recoginized the internal organs of my carb as being identical to a fifty something ford pickup six cylinder carb., she came back to life.

I know it's too late now snd perhaps you have learned this too by now. Somebody makes a chipboard now with a glue that will not absorb water, one of the guys at the local lumber yard was showing it to me. It has a shiny appearance rather than the dull look of regular chipboard. They have a small piece in a bucket of water that has been there for a couple months and has shown no sign of swelling so far.

So far I haven't had the fuel solenoid problem with the prior 4300 or the 4310 I have now. So far only a minor problem, the battery and ground cableI

Are you sure the manifold heater is working. I think the engines are identical, if I push the key in to activate the heater she starts on about the third or fourth time over even below zero.

Like has been said a good dealership can make or break your tractor experince. Brand loyalty seems to cluster around a good dealership, locally you don't see many Masseys but a dealer is quite a ways from here too.
I have no Massey experience so I can't comment only that I think they are still the largest tractor builder world wide so someone must buy them. Deere, Kubota, and Case/NH are all good brands with parts forever. I'd be a bit shy about the overseas brands that I can't pronounce, you see a dealership pop up here and there and a year later the place is vacant.

Check with the Surplus Center, they have lots of hydraulic cylinders. They're on line, I've got lots of stuff from them, you get a live 800 number human who knows something.

As I said in a prior post I likely change oil too often to catch the problem if I do have it.
I've been greener than a tree hugger for the past 20-25 yrs. more because of the dealership than to make the Deere quarterly report look good. But as has been said this isn't a cheap Chineese POS knock off, Deere is supposed to be somewhat of a standard of quality, which they have been in most but not all things they have built.
From as many reports as I have seen and heard about with this problem Deere does need to approach this as something of a their fault issue rather than always a customer fault issue. I don't feel real happy with a 12 grand supposed to be a standard of the industry machine in my shed that may need an engine at 300 hours.
You guys with the known problem I urge to put the squirm on Deere and keep us up to speed.
