A three point hitch backhoe is kinda bad business whether on a compact or a full size farm tractor, the three point hitches weren't designed for that much abuse. The top link is usually the weakest point to give way and I've heard of, but not seen personallly, of a couple tractors that had a chunk of casting torn out of thr rear housing where the top link is attached.
I'd check with the backhoe company to see if a subframe is available. I have a neighbor who built his own subframe after a bad experience with a farm tractor three point.

Crunch and I share the same solution, I too have a set of gator blades that don't seem to be good for anything but grinding up walnuts and leaves. Our lawn in town is pretty small with just one tree that drops lots of leaves and three or four walnut trees too, it's kind of fun to smack the walnuts to see how far I can make them fly.

Dennis, whops, where is your mower deck guard? I think I see it folded up on the deck, mine is upstairs in the shed somewhere.

I'm surprised your dealer doesn't have rebuilt seat supplier. The local Deere dealer has gotten me several rebuilt seat pans for old Farmalls. I think they were less than a hundred bucks. Check with other dealerships, I bet you'll find what you need.

Somehow my tech manual has grown legs, I was going to trace the circuts for you. I know a couple other guys here have them so maybe they can chime in to help. My first guess would be the reverser switch its'self. Mine on the 4310 gets a bit goofy if I get too wild with the power washer.

I haven't had this problem, but there is a sensor of some kind on the bottom of the transaxle that apeared to be leaking around the threads, but in reality the fluid was leaking thru the sensor. I don't remember if it was the HPX or the XUV.

My experience with Deere 7 and 8 thousand series would tell me yes, they have pump capacity up the wazoo, and even they had optional higher capacity pumps from the factory only.
I have no experience with your series, but I have my doubts that unless a factory high volume pump was in the tractor that you can get that much out of the standard system.
I have the pumps, motors etc, to build a system such as you want driven from the mid PTO of my 4310 but just another of those haven't gotten around to things so far.

The size O ring you describe would be about the right size to have been on the outside of the piston. If that O ring was gone the fluid would get past the piston pretty fast. Being the line from the connectors goes into a "T" between the two bucket cylinders the fluid you are pushing thru to maintain curl would all go to the cylinder with the leaky O ring without affecting the opposite cylinder.
If all of these assumptions are corrrect I wouldn't use the cylinder too much for fear of the bare piston scoring the inside wall of the cylinder.

From your description I'm assuming the Gator was running when it went in the water, or did it sit there with the engine off while the water came over it??
You spoke of removing the intake, injectors, and glow plugs, OK, did you find water in the intake manifold or did water come from the cylinders when you blew air into the injector ot glow plug openings?
Again assuming from your post that the Gator is a diesel.
How long was the Gator in the water before you got it out?
In the water and out in a short time with the engine never running souldn't have too much messed up if water didn't get into the fuel tank.
If the engine was running when she went in the drink, I'd have a hard time believing that enough water could suck thru the air cleaner then thru the air feed to the manifold to lock an engine, I think the engine would just die from lack of air before all this could happen, not sure. Frank.

My baby Deere 4310 has a Yanmar engine, it calls for 15-40 year round.
When it grows up it want's to be a real tractor.

If the sand isn't compacted yet then just backdrag it with the loader bucket unless you have a long way to move it.
Contrary to EW's bedspring thing a box blade with the teeth removed, (yes EW, I have did this), and using a very light touch on the depth control will work, but practice a bit where you can't hurt anything first.

I never knew they had hammermill type chippers. Do you mean like a feed mill type hammermill with a screen under the hammers? That sounds like something that would be real loud and use up horsepower like it was free.
The power company sometimes dumps chips out back for us just to have a place to get rid of them. I'm sure it is a drum type with knives to slice the branches. The chips seem to be pretty uniform, we use them for tree mulch.
