An old auctineer (RIP) that used to have about every farm auction around here 30 yrs. ago always said when he was selling an old H Farmall or B John Deere.
"They will do just as much work as the big new ones, just takes a bit longer".
You can shift down to make the tractor handle about any size mower as long as the three point it will lift it safely.

As has been said a tractor is only as good as the dealership that sells and services your purchase.
I have no experience with either Kubota or Massey other than their reputations. Whichever is the strongest most reliable dealership within a reasonable distance would make the chioce for me.
I used to have Case IH farm tractors and equipment till their dealerships became too far from me to be a handy supply source. Since then a local, (15 mi.) Deere dealer has did fine by me. Frank.

I'm not aware of a specific "Winter" rye, but we use rye to seed new waterways in the early fall. It gets a good start then comes up real early in the spring. it is about the best quick cover crop I know of.

I never had the knobby tires on the 4X2's, just the turf type tread, and like someone said if you spilled a glass of water you were stuck. I'm sure the knobbyys would have cleaned much better, the turf just immediatly filled the tread with mud and you had better brought your lunch.

The warmer the weather the faster roundup will work, but ten days will do it even in cooler weather.
If the area can be mowed before you spray it helps to get rid of the excess dead material when you are working the soil down.
I've reshaped several field waterways using this method after fighting the sod wads on the first one or two.

I don't know how many new cars per day they sell, but doubt it would be more than two or three, their bread and butter is pickup trucks, used cars and used pickups. I think they have three sales people. This is a small dealership, but been there since Moby Dick was a minnow.
The friend with the old Impala is almost as anti Obama and his henchmen as me, so he may be finding any reason to pick the thing apart too.

I'm betting the number crunchers are already at work figuring out a way to tax the Volt and the air powered UPS trucks. So in the real world even if the UPS trucks pay less road tax they will pass on to the consumer the cost of however the tax people decide to ream it out of them to make up the difference?
Now road tax on a horse, say 50 cents a bushel for their oats? Their has to be some government official in charge of this issue.

Only if you have experience in working with injection pumps you can remove it and take it to a diesel shop that rebuilds injection pumps, injectors, etc., they can put your pump on a test stand and evaluate the problem.
If you have no experience doing this it would be best to take the 4010 to the Deere dealership intact.

I don't have a kit for a mid PTO, but I "THINK" a hydro drive takes a different kit than a gear drive.
I haven't saw one in use but the new driveover decks sure look good to me. Frank.

I don't know anything about their latest machines, but if they are anything like the garden teractor my Dad had they must be OK.
I still have the Simplicity walk behind garden tractor that my Dad had with a front sicklebar mower, a rear cultivator, and a neat little mouldboard plow that I've lost somewhere.
It went thru a couple Biggs engines and still kept on going. I don't use it anymore but with a new engine It would work again. Frank.

The "H" and "M" Farmalls we had when I was a kid had a long flat PTO shield that was an ideal place to mount a toolbox, so Dad had a toolbox on all of them and that sorta made you leave them on.
The flip up shield on the 4310 isn't too bad, plus if you stop the engine you can turn the shaft by hand for lineup.
One of my cousins lost her husband in a PTO accicent, no shield on the tractor and no shield on the shaft. I think about him when I hook up.

OK now "Son" maybe I do need to take you in before you klll yourself plowing snow at 20 MPH with a skid loader. I've never driven a skid loader so I didn't know one could go that fast. So what happens when you hit a curb or a fire plug at that speed, first man to do a sumersault on a skid loader? Wow you do need help. "Pops"

I recognized the model number of the Land Pride as being a rear discharge model, did you get a rear discharge in the Woods? I just wondered how you liked that feature. I've never had a rear discharge but always wondered how well they work.

No, leaving the deck on while doing loader work just isn't a good idea.
Find out if the deck on the Deere is the new driveover deck. I haven't saw one used but did look one over at a dealership. Deere claims that you never get off the seat to mount or dismount the mower deck. That would be a slick deal.

Just as a comparison my Father's first tractor in the late fourtys sometime was a "B" Farmall it had about 15 HP. He pulled a two fourteens moldboard plow with it. I don't know how fast he pulled it tho.

Yes, I have a place on the loader frame that I carry my walker on the trator. The lawn mower has no place to carry one and I did get stranded this summer when the mower quit on me. The Mrs. was shopping with the grand daughters that afternoon and she had instructed me before she left to NOT do any mowing, but you know how that goes. I do carry a cell phone and called the Deere dealer who had a service person there within an hour to fix the mower, in the meantime I just sat there and waited. I still work in the woodshop building furniture and have two gardens that I tend on my hands and knees. My problem orignated with a fall on the ice breaking my pelvis and have never regained the full use of my legs. I've been to the Mayo Clinic several times and they haven't figured it out either why my legs won't work so it is just a nuscance, not really a handicap in my mind. Long as I can still do something I'm not going to go to the rocking cahir, too many people die sitting in them.
