Quite a few years ago I had a couple truckloads of soybeans stolen from a bin on a farm where nobody lived. I did'nt check the bin real often so I had no idea when they were taken. Without a broken lock (there was no lock), strange tire tracks, etc. as evidence the insurance company I had at that time termed it "Mysterious Dissapearance" which of course was not covered. I'm sure lots of insurance claims have been paid for things that weren't stolen or destroyed by fire so they have to be on their guard. Since then we do try to keep better records with pictures, etc. and just keep a closer watch on things. Frank.

Ron, I'm not sure about the exact size you need being available, but most any farm tire shop or farm impliment dealer will have a source from a wheel co. that will likely have it. Good luck. Frank.

HuckMeat; I never had much luck with post hole augers. it seemed like about every other hole I drilled that a tree root, a rock or something gave me a hard time, so I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I got the backhoe and started using it for postholes. If I hadn't already sold it I would almost give you the auger I had just to get it out of my sight. Frank.

There are so many factors that can determine the fair price for hay, (good hay/poor hay, big crop/short crop, transport costs, etc.) that make it almost impossible to have a price list that would fit more than a local aeria. There is likely a livestock sales barn, or a feed store somewhere nearby, likely someone there would know local hay prices. You also might call your county extension office. Frank.

kthompson; The timing of the adition of the chemicals to the tank isn't critical, just do it soon enough to have time to flush the chemical tank a couple times before the main tank gets full. Some occasions call for the combination of two or more chemicals in a mix. if you get into doing such a thing always check the label and ask your supplier if there is a proper order of addition of the products to the tank, in rare occasions doing the mix in the wrong order can result in a big tank of (cottage cheese). I think some newer chemicals have an anti foam agent in them, but if excess foam starts billowing out the top of a tank while mixing there are anti foam agents that will control that. Happy spraying. Broken; I don't want to rain on your parade, but I've saw tree thinning done a couple times that did'nt work out too well. Folks who are supposed to know say that after a timber stand becomes too thick the trees grow too tall and spindly competing for sunlight to stand on their own after thinning. I hope it works out for you, but I can show you a couple thinning jobs where the first windstorm took a lot of trees down. Thinning is good but maybe on a gradual basis over a few years. I've replaced seal in cylinders sevweral times in the past. It's really not that difficult on easy to handle size like on a CUT loader, the bigger long stroke ones like on big backhoes are just plain heavy and clumbsy to handle, those are best left to the pro's. Count on it being kinda of a mess, you never seem to get quite all the fluid out no matter how you drain them prior to repair. Frank.

Shortmagnum, Rear wheel fenders were an option on Farmall "H" and "M" tractors. some of the tractor mounted impliments used in those days would'nt fit with the fenders in the way so lots of them ended up in the corner of the shed. The fenders were a safety factor, but not as much concern was placed on safety then as is now. Frank.

Try switching circuts, Turn off engine then work the hyd levers back and forth till all pressure is relieved then uncouple the hoses then plug them back in with the bucket cylinders in the lift circut and lift cyls pluged into the bucket curl outlets. Then if the loader lifts and the bucket don't curl you will know the problem is with the hyd valve on the tractor if the opposite is true,(bucket curls and lift still don't work), then the problem is in the loader, most likely a coupler is locked from a broken or weak spring. Even badly worn cylinders usually will still lift, but settle back quickly, so I would doubt that the lift cylinders are causing the problem. Good luck. Frank.

Sorry, I did'nt mean to be a smart alek with my answer of using sheep to mow around and over the rocks. Other than clearing the rocks ahead of the machine like Drankin said I don't think a mower with front yard quality of cut is made by anyone that would stand many rocks. Even the heaviest of bush hog types will soon cost a lot to maintain with lots of rocks. Frank.

I had a canvas umbrella for the 4310, then got a hard canopy from Deere. it doesn't take much of a tree limb to destroy an umbrella. The fiberglass takes a bit more abuse without damage. Frank.

A couple things come to mind. #1 Are you using the fluid recommended for the hoe? The recommended fluid should have an anti foaming agent in it. #2 Could there be water in the fluid? #3 Is something causing the fluid to be hotter than normal? Maybe this will give you some things to check. Best of luck, Frank.

Some suppliers have a drum deposit and some don't. The last Chevron I used had a deposit and the last Deere drum I used did not, you keep the empty drum. Just as a convenience factor I've went to the 2 1/2 gal. jugs. Far as brand is concerned the ones I've mentioned gave me good service for a long time so I'll stick with them. Frank.

Some of the most relaxing trips we've ever taken were in the Dakotas just after Labor Day. No crowds, no real hot weather, Motels and resturants were more reasonable. We've been up thru there three times in the past thirty years and I look forward to doing it again. Enjoy your trip. Frank.

I'll go along with Murf on the plastic thing. Several years ago a friend of mine bought some engeneered rafters from a rafter plant that had been built a foot too short or something for little or nothing. his plan was to build a shed with them in a year or two. he stored them on the ground with black plastic over them. In a year or so when he went to use them they had rotted enough to be usless from the condensation on the inside of the plastic. Another lesson learned the hard way. But back to the subject, yes a shed or something to keep the sun and rain off will keep your tractor or most any equipment in better shape than sitting in the weather. Frank.
