Dude; Both the Kobota and Deere are good tractors. Your choice of dealerships is more important than the choice of brands. Either brand is going to need service and parts sooner or later so having a reliable dealer is your most important decision. Good luck. Frank.

The 460's were about 55 hp. The value of your tractor will depend on the condition. Maybe ask around at a dealership or auction service to get a place to start from. Frank.

harvey; No the Super H wasn't a family tractor. I had bought it a few years ago and it was used almost dauly for light work. Frank.

Super H Farmalls were never equiped with a 3 pt. from the factory. Several brands of aftermarket 3 pt. hitch units were sold for older Farmalls. You will have to measure the dimensions of the hitch on the tractor to determine if it is a cat. 1 or 2. Best of luck. Frank.

I've been using bio diesel since it first came around, and have had no problems. I don't know about compacts, but I think all new Deere farm tractors and combines leave the factory with bio diesel in them. I do hope that science can come up with something to replace the fuels we have today when we may need all the grain and oilseeds to feed the people and crude oil becomes out of reach costwise. For the time being we don't seem to be a nation too concerned with conservation of fuels, drive past an auto dealership and notice the front row is all fullsize four door pickups and the seem to sell like there free. I used to watch my Dad and my Uncle run a two man chainsaw, but not nearly that long, probably a five or six ft bar. I don't have a clue what brand it was but it had a set of handle bars on each end for them to operate it. I think all they did was fell the tree with the two man then cut the rest with crosscut saws and axes into lengths that could be lifted onto a buzz saw on the front of a tractor. Those old buzz saws were a grizzly machine too, several old timers I remember lost fingers in them. Frank.

The "Hydro vs. Gear" thing has been hashed lots of times here. I havent heard any real horror stories about Hydros that were properly maintained. With enough abuse or neglecet either transmission can be torn up. I've had both but still like gears best. Just a matter of what you are comfortable driving. Frank.

$Stone; If you are speaking of liquid in the front tires at roughly a 75-80% fill you aren't going to be adding enough extra weight to cause any problems. Lots of folks like myself seldom if ever take the front end loader off and so far I've not heard of anyone having front axle or wheel problems. My point being that the liquid weight you can get in a front tire is only a fraction of the weight of a loader. Frank.$ Ballast loading front wheels on 4020 series
