Thanks for the suggesion. The screen was clear but quite a bit of dirt had actually caked in the radiator fins. Cleaned it out yesterday and we had no problems mowing even on a warm day. Once we get the grass knocked down a little more and mow on a regular basis, I think it will be even easier.

I guess people are too busy using them to be on the Internet. Since I just bought mine recently, maybe they are so reliable that people do not have many problems that cause them to seek help. I have been happy with mine so far.

I think the unit had just been sitting too long; after a little use (pumping brake and twisting a little mor on the lowering knob), everything started working OK.

I just bought a LB1914 and have some moderately rock ground to clear. People have suggested a wider box blade (5 foot) so that the blade covers the tracks of the tractor. I think I need a 4 foot because the tractor is smaller. Any experiences you have had with box blade or rock rake use would be appreciated.

Thanks. I called customer service and was told that the serial number I have was actually made in 1996. Although I bought the unit an an auction, a local dealer has offered to show me the features and functions tomorrow.
