Thanks Art. I can't wait to see him behind the wheel of that big tractor. I really liked the salesman there at Franklin Kubota. He was pretty straight up with us and I think it's going to be a long and fruitful relationship for both parties. Thanks to all for your input!

If you listen to Merle, you MUST be a good guy. Started listening to him in high school as a joke with a couple of friends when we'd play pool in my basement, soon we were all hooked. Best voice ever. I'll bet he owns a tractor or 2!

If you're looking at spending $12k, why not try to find a used BX22? It's got fel, bh, you could pick up mowers, etc. and have a great all around machine. My bx2200 has a fel & bb and does a good job on my 10 acres. I also keep 3 - 4 acres mowed pretty handily. I can't imagine not having 4wd now. I'd opt for less hp and 4wd any day.

Thanks Beagle! Of course, the only thing standing in the way of me getting another tractor is the slight, small problem of MONEY!! HA! But the good thing about not having millions is you shop & investigate & make a good decision

I had the biggest Craftsman mower they made at the time, a 22.5 horse. Mowed my 3 acres fairly fast, but as I got older I'd walk at a 90 degree angle for a while after finishing. It just beat my back to death.My wife finally took pity & let me get a used bx2200 w/fel, bb, rfm, and rotary mower (7 acres pasture). NO COMPARISON! Plenty of power, does so much for me! You'll love your 1500!

Even though it was raining pretty good, after I got it out, I lowered the FEL so the front wheels were off the ground and hosed off the tires and underside of the tractor. I think I got most of the mud off. Hopefully no damage.

I know a tractor mechanic who works at a dealership in a nearby town. He swears by Kubota and likes John Deere, but isn't very high on the late model New Hollands. I'm not trying to start anything, just something to chew on FYI.

Score one for Deere. I actually pinched a nerve in my neck rasslin with that shaft and lining up the splines. I even marked all the indents on the shaft of the finishing mower, but if you don't hold it just so (straight & level), it won't go on. I do think Kubota gives a lot of bang for the buck though.

I've been to NorthernTool.com. However, my Kubota dealer says only Kubota manufactures seats that will fit the BX2200.. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that. Thanks for the reply though...
