Well, I feel pretty stupid right about now. Last night I decided I'd take my FEL off and store it in my dirt floor shed. Have taken FEL on/off several times, but on flat asphalt surface. Had problems from the start. Ended up extending FEL WAY OUT and now hydraulic lines are leaking, FEL won't move and I'm just a little frustrated. Nobody to blame buy myself. Don't even know if I can get lines unplugged to get FEL rest of way off. Any suggestions?

Why not suck it back in and mount it and then get things better? You might have a hose that is unplugged that is causing the problem. ....

I think I've lost a lot if not all my hydraulic fluid, so I can't get it to move now. I checked it today when I got home and it was dry at the dipstick underneat the frame below the seat. I've got a guy coming to look at it tomorrow hopefully. ....

MB22; Sounds like you backed out too far before uncoupling your hyd. hoses from the tractor. As Art said make sure all the couplers are connected, then try to ease the tractor back into the loader a bit without it hiting the hood after puting some fluid in the system, then start over. What ever you do don't run the system dry, fix the lines or hoses soon as your close enough to get them reconnected. Lots of expensive things can happen when pumps, hydros, etc. are operated without fluid. Best of luck. Frank. ....

Art/Hardwood--

To what extent were MB's problems caused by trying to disconnect on a uneven surface? Although I don't own an FEL (yet), this sounds like a problem we'd all like to avoid. If you've got some experience along these lines, please share.

bobkrow; Without knowing more of his situation I think he just backed out too far before uncoupling the hose couplers from the tractor and probably broke a line or a hose. Your question on having a level surface. Probably a FEL is the most sensitive attachment to mount or dismount on an unlevel surface. having a nice level spot whether dirt floor or cament just makes things go lots smoother. That's one of the great things about a quick coupler attachment for your three point hitch, it makes attaching an implement on an uneven surface lots easier than lining up three point pins from the implement into the three point arms of your tactor. Hope this helps. Frank. ....

Hey guys. I'm trying to be optimistic about this. There must be some reason for my dumb mistake. I second hardwood's comment about the FEL being sensitive. I think I got overconfident and thought I could make it work on my shed floor which is hard packed dirt. Speaking of quick couplers, I was reading on one of these websites about a 7800 or some model with extendable arms on the 3 point hitch. The biggest compaint I have about the bx2200 is getting implements on the rear 3ph. It's usually difficult. I have a heckuva time with finishing mower and rotary mower getting the shaft to match and slide onto the PTO. thanks for your concern and comments guys. ....

mb22; I don't know how the PTO works on a Kubota, but Deere does have one real nice feature on their 4000 series PTO. When the engine is off you can turn the PTO shaft on the tractor a parital turn makinfg lining up the splines much easier. Frank. ....

Score one for Deere. I actually pinched a nerve in my neck rasslin with that shaft and lining up the splines. I even marked all the indents on the shaft of the finishing mower, but if you don't hold it just so (straight & level), it won't go on. I do think Kubota gives a lot of bang for the buck though. ....

I've seen where people have disconnected on pallets, built up concrete sections and just about every type of condition. For what I've found over the past 20 plus years of Quick Disconect loaders level is level and flat is flat and they mean that not only for where the loader sits but also the tractor while mounting and dismounting. Most of the PTO shafts turn today when the tractors are off for alignment purposes when attaching implements. ....
