$17500 got me a l3010 with Kubota loader.

You haven't seen winter unless your out plowing in -40 degrees.I'll be glad i put a block heater on the ol'Kubota
when that hits.
I just laugh when you guys whine about winters out east.Come on over to Minn for a visit in Jan.:)

(I'll try to stay on track with the original question)

Just spent 10 hours on a L3010 hydro.I would say that the hydro sucks up horse power beyond the mentioned 1hp.Other than the lack of power it's great.
Size your tractor to your needs,add additional engine size
for hydro.

(I have a L3010,FEL,backhoe and loaded tires with hydro.
it's a little under power.)

Ok folks,
Here is the scoop on my new l3010 (FEL and Backhoe).I really had some serious dig time on this machine over the weekend.Worked at clearing underbrush and digging holes for footings on my boat ramp project.I'm in Minn.so a 4ft depth iis required.The FEL worked flawless (for digging get the add on toothbar,it makes a hugh difference.)Plenty of power and mondo performance.The backhoe seemed a little underpowered even at full throttle.I can't quite make out the reason why.Maybe it was the tree roots.
Anyway, for all you "K" fans out there,the bottom line on the l3010 is....Great heavey duty machine,good worker,but underpowered for this type of application.If i had to do it again or could fit a bigger machine into my garage i would get more h.p.(Not the l3410,it's only 3 more h.p. which isn't squat.)
Word to the wise for Hydro vs.Shuttle debate: The Hydo unit does suck up some power to run.So consider it carefully when configuring your unit.The sales guys will tell you it hardly makes any difference and that ain't so.

The question is TRACTION !
I plow in Minnesota with a Kodiak 400 with no problem 85% of the time.The power is more than plenty but keeping traction is the trick.Get some good chains and even a 250
will do the job.

Latest information on backhoe:

Got in touch with Kubota Dealer Technical Support and the straight skinny is that on the 3000 models no sub frame is
used and no hardened parts are needed for the backhoe.

Wish me luck on this,i don't see how a simple 3ph is going to support backhoe work.I hope the boys in Orange know there stuff.

Just bought my first (and hopefuly my last) tractor:
L3010hst,r4 tires,la482 FEL,bl4690a Backhoe.
$22,800

The tractor alone was $13100.
I think this is a good deal,any comments?
Add on equipment to this will be a toothbar and working lights.

Got a quote in wisc. of $14650 for this unit.
My sales guy (decent fella)said to save some money and go with the 3010.....it's only 3 hp less and $1500 cheaper.

I am just about ready to purchase my first tractor.I need more opinions on my purchase other than from sales people.
Is the 3hp gained between these two models justified for the additional $1500 ? I am running a FEL and back hoe off of this unit.Any other comments would be helpful.
