I am not the best at driving in reverse with my 4 x 8 utility trailer behind my car. I busted up a few tail light assemblies by just "tapping" stuff with the trailer. I made some tail light shields out of old well casing so that the tail lights would survive more of these encounters. See my photos #7 & #8 for details. So far this has worked well in hitting woodpiles and a stack of bricks. I suspect it would work with many protruding tail lights if the proper size of pipe could be found.

Description: <br>Here it is mounted. I chose to paint the inside of the pipe white to reflect more tail light. Ideally the tail light will fit in the pipe but more important is that the light is visible through the pipe and that the pipe is the first thing to hit any object while in reverse.

Description: <br>This is the trailer tail light shield before it is mounted. It is a short piece of well casing cross cut on an angle with mounting holes drilled. If you manage to cut the right length of pipe just so it will give you 2 shields from one cut.

I came up with idea a few years ago but unlike many of my ideas I think this one is worth sharing. There was no where on my Kubota L4150 (with FEL) to carry long handled tools (shovel, rake, etc.) except in the bucket which introduced another whole set of issues.<br>

I mounted lengths of pipe on the loader vertical uprights near the driver seat. See my picture #1-#4. This allows the carrying of a long handled tool on each side of the tractor. I suppose your could use bigger pipes and carry multiple tools. I once hung an old golf bag from the pipe and carried a bunch of tools but that idea needs some refinement.<br>

I also found these uprights are a great place to hang a logging chain.

I could not find a good place to mount a tool box on my Kubota L4150 (with FEL). Then I saw this idea in Farm Show magazine and have been very pleased with the results for the past year. See my photos #5 & #6. It is basically a length of pipe cut in half lengthwise and it slides into the hollow pipe cross member of the downward portion of the loader arms.<br>

Its size would vary across FEL makes and models but otherwise it is a pretty straight forward concept.

Description: <br>I got this idea from Farm Show magazine. My Kubota L4150 does not seem to have a good place to install a toolbox. The hollow pipe on the down part of the arms of my BF900 loader offers a decent amount of unused space to store odds and ends in a half piece of pipe. The black pipe is from the upright of a basketball net.

Description: <br>The pipe is a leg from an old Sears swing set. Drill two mounting holes through the pipe, top and bottom. Use pipe holes to locate and tap holes in the loader. Enlarge the outside holes big enough to fit the socket needed to screw bolts into the holes tapped into the loader and attach pipe to loader.

That is an interesting idea. Although I'll still have the issues of the implement being far away from the rear wheels and thus have the accentuated rocking motions described. My bucket tends to droop on its own over a short time, say 1/2 hour, so I'd have to keep an eye on that as well.

I have been trying to figure out what type of transmission I have in order to ask a question. I have a 1992 Kubota L4150 with a Hydraulic Shuttle Transmission as stated in the Operator's Manual. I do not think this is a FST, GST , or HST that is referenced in so many threads here. This tractor has a clutch pedal, a hydraulic shuttle shift lever, a hi-lo gear shift lever, and a main gear shift lever.<br>

My question: The manual says to not shift the hi-lo gear shift lever or main gear shift lever without first coming to a complete stop. I agree with that except when I am moving forward I like to place the hydraulic shuttle shift lever in neutral and shift up (only up) the main gear shift lever then re-engage the hydraulic shuttle shift lever to forward. This works very smoothly. I find it is the only way to use the higher gears when carrying a real heavy load in the loader bucket or to get moving in 8th gear at all without lugging the engine. Q: Does this sound familiar to anyone and/or does it sound like a real bad practice to continue?

I've heard homeowners rave about Teramites they've rented for single jobs. If I'm not mistaken the BH is not easily removable. For the long haul, I insist on the option of 3 pth. Can't beat the versatility. If the 7100 has 3pth maybe you're all set.

My offer of $15K was eventually accepted. It turns out a dealer had offered the same, so I guess I did a fair appraisal. My 1st Kubota, and nearly my 1st tractor younger than me. I'll be selling my IH 460 utility diesel, and spending more time on this website.

I'm looking at a 1992 L4150 with BF900 FEL and Kubota BH. 250 hours. Ag tires. HST. What's a good price?<br>
Any opinions on this tractor? I was orginally in the 30hp market but I don't think this should disappoint me for odd jobs around the house.

fyi, I was at an auction today, (Clinton, NJ) and saw this machine with 86 hours, go for $18,600. very clean. I do not need backhoe so I figured 16K was my limit. I heard 16K was also the reserve. Anyway I never even had to bid it passed me so fast.<br>

I just bought a used Cosmo AC42 pto chipper and I would like a manual or just information about it. It was made by an Italian company that no longer makes them. Top gravity feed for brush, side manual chipper fead for up to 4". Sound familiar to anyone?
