On my '03 TC40DA, contrary to what the owner's manual says, there is no indicating mark on the tachometer for 540 PTO RPM. There ARE a couple of lights on the instrument cluster. One says 540 RPM, and the other 600-and-something. Is one of the lights supposed to illuminate when the PTO reaches 540 RPM, and the other when it goes too high? At about what engine speed should I expect to get 540 PTO RPM?

Surprisingly the owner's manual doesn't cover the function of the lights at all.

Thanks,

Mike Cobb

My '04 TC40DA has the indicator on the tach at around the 2450RPM mark. It looks like the head on view of a PTO shaft with shield. If your indicator is missing, I would think 2400-2500 RPM range would be a safe bet. ....

Something you may want to check if the indicator light is not coming on. On my 2001 tc33 the switch that turns the indicator light on had a loose bolt and the switch fell down. This caused the lever not to hit the switch when the PTO was used. I just moved the switch back into place and tightened the bolt, then the indicator lights worked.
