Well my new tractor got delivered and spent an hour + the first day just moving the manure pile to a better place in the yard. ( Really just an excuse to play with the tractor and FEL. ) It took a little getting use to. THe HST is a little strange to me ( Just not what the body is use to when driving a tractor. ) Now I am planning on pulling the old corn row seeder that was left behind in the yard up to the garage to rebuild it. I tried to do that this fall, but the ole lawn mower just couldn't pull it up the hill. Not that I plan on using the seeder, Well actually I might use it to scratch up the pasture before I throw out seed this spring, but it will make a good winter project to restore. It has the old wood box and what use to be hoses dropping down for the seed rows behind the disc's. I know there is a name for it, but right now it escapes me. Getting late.
Well just had to spout off about getting my new toy. Pictures coming soon.

Did you let out any of those Tim Allen grunts as you were driving the new tractor? As far as the imprint of the tire that you were concerned about, how did it do? Everything is very soft in our area now and if it is going to cut in, it would do it now.
I had mine out today cutting off more topsoil but it was a muddy mess. The R-4's suprised me and did a relatively decent job until they loaded up with mud. They unloaded the mud fairly easily by themselves with just a trip through the higher grass. Now the tractor needs a good washing!!!! ....

Oh I gave out quite a few Tim Allen Arr ARR ARR!. Made my wife laugh. I had mine out this afternoon cleaning up the pasture some. Gotta get it ready for spring seeding. The
R-4's have not cut in like I thought they would and even in my muddy pasture they gave me good traction. I did have to put it in 4WD twice so far. Both times as the same spot. where I have created a couple ruts running back to the manure pile. But once in 4wd she goes fine. Already shopping for attachments though. Need a 5' Brush Hog ( Generic. ) Was just looking at TSC and the KING Kutter. Runs about $600 new. Figure for my limited use it might be about what I need. I did add acoule pictures if you want to look. I need to change them though. Was having dificulties from my home PC and slow connection. Ended up with douples. ....

Wbowhunt, fine looking machine. It will serve you well! That's a nice buck you have there, but If you let that younger fellow grow some he would of been a real dandy next year. I let 2 walk this year about that same size, It's hard to do but I'm glad I did, because next year they'll surely be hittin my Alpha again and they be real trophys. from 2 and ahalf to 3 and ahalf really makes a big difference. Still a nice one though! ....

I probably should have, But for the most part I am a Meat Hunter and that is the first deer that came within Bow range. Actually the second. I missed a Doe about 25 yards only 20 minutes before this one showed up. She acted spooked and I aimed a little low thinking she would drop. Needless to say. She didn't and I was a little lower then I thought and went right under her. Anyway, I haven't figured out a good recipe for the horns and until I do, it is pretty much, first come, first served ( One the table )for me. Thanks though, I am pretty happy with it. Weight close to 190lbs on the hoof. ....

In this type of weather, I leave mine in 4WD all the time unless going out in the front yard, then I will bring it back to 2WD as to not cut the yard when making sharper turns. I finsihed dismantling a portion of the rock ledge in my front yard. Damn limestone grows faster than weeds and all year around!!!! The tractor really surprised me pulling out some of those rocks.
I think the King Cutter rotary cutter at TSC will be just fine for you. I bought one of the cheaper brands when it was CT Farm and Country and I have abused that thing to no end and it is still going good. Pick yourself up a couple of extra sheer pins, just in case. I've seen too many people break a sheer pin and want to finish the job and put too hard of a bolt in there and do some serious damage to the gearbox on the cutter. You may want to check out a landscape rake as that might be a nice implement to have with your horses. ....

Funny you should mention the rake. I was just thinking about that. I am getting ready to have my pasture soil tested and start prep for spring fertilzer and planting and was looking at the pasture's current condition. It is in some pretty bad shape. It was an old over grown weed field that I mowed down last year just to get the fencing up and the horses over to the house. I was thinking of cutting it short and then running a rake over it just to scratch up alot of the old dead stuff now and then come spring fertilize and plant some new seed. ....

Sounds like a plan, just take the old Dodge up to TSC and load it up with one of each (tiller, post hole digger, snow blower, rake, blade, box blade, carry all, bush hog, finish mower)!!!! You might want to make two trips!!!!
I want to get a tiller and a set of forks to go on my bucket. Just got to wait a little while though.
I agree with you about the antlers on deer, the only thing they are good for is a very expensive hat rack. I'll take the meat over the antlers anyday!!!!

What do you think I won the lottery? That would take more like 10 trips over the next 10 years. One attachment each year. I think I am going to try and get the brush cutter as soon as I sell my old riding mower and then look at running up to marion's for the auctions on other attachments. I may even try to look at brush cutters up there. but I can't wait to long. I need to get alot cleaned up so I can seed ....
