Dennis have you looked at the possibility of an instant message area, for members, who's on line? Many times I see several members posting at the same time looking for ideas or just have something to say. Lots of the messages seem like just shooting the breeze.

I can think of a couple of times I've needed info especially on hyd's and could have picked TomG's brain a lot better this way.

I'm not real big on chat rooms but do use Windows Messenger with family. It seems to be a simple way to say Hi and is not to complicated.

The forum would have to be something you do so the format is genaric.

I think that this is a good idea, especially in view of the "online status" list at the top of the screen. If I saw someone online that I wanted to ask a very specific question of or make some joking comment that was not for general viewing, it would be a good resource.

Dennis, maybe this is Harvey's idea that you were thinking about in the other thread. ....

I think quite a few of you have expressed some interest in some version of this.

Right now I am leaning towards a "Private Message" system for members sort of like an email system.

I think this would work out better and be simpler for me.

I guess that that would work simply on user names, wouldn't it? So if I wanted to send you a Private Message, I would just enter DennisCTB in the TO: blank. That would work fine.

I have started blocking pop-ups, but I can enable them for the CTB if you use that format for the messages. It has just gotten to the point that I don't need a video camera, mortgage, or viagra every ten seconds. ....

At least not the Video camera or mortage ! :) I too think this is a great idea as it has already been mentioned that not all messages are best for public viewing. Dave ....
