Hi Guys ! Have a Kubota dealer in the area going out of business. Actually this is the second dealer in our area in a couple months that has closed. My question is what is the markup that the dealers put on their tractors? This dealer is " supposedly" going to sell the remaining tractors at " dealers cost " whatever that means. Also can I count on other Kubota dealers to cover the warranty on the tractor. Thanks for your help Sam... also some of these new tractors have sat for 2 or 3 years at this dealership some outside some inside....Would this effect you from purchasing them.....?

No, but just like anything, if it is cosmetically flawed I would pay less for it that a perfect new one. It doesn't have any effect on the performance. Diesel engines don't have the storage problems gasoline engines do, so having them sit has no effect on them.
If he's selling at cost, can he show you an invoice? Just like car dealers invoice price doesn't always mean cost, but it will be close. There are always incentives going on, but they are usually not a major factor. I would figure about 25% discount from true list and you've got a very good deal. Just be sure he's giving you true list.
Some of the dealers around here should be out of business, but they're not.
Good Luck,

Sammy,

I noticed you are located in Indiana. What part of Indiana? I am looking (still) for that perfect match in a Kubota and would be interested in contacting a dealer selling at "cost". Thanks.

I assume you are referring to Northside as being one of the dealers that went out. Who is the other one? ....

Hi Sam

I just picked up a Kubota sight unseen that had been sitting for 4 years accumulating a total of 3 hrs. I was advised on this board that I might find the tires and other rubber parts to have degraded. Indeed it turned out to be true. The front tires are showing considerable lateral cracking. I am not noticing any air leakage (only had it 2 days) so I cannot say it is a performance issue yet. I haven't checked belts and other rubber parts yet. I will bet that they can be warranteed. You might want to take a look out for this kind of stuff. Also be sure to ask about the manuals.

Good luck ....

Sammy,
Just thought I would let you know the dealership you are referring to (Fairground) is getting low on tractors. I stopped and talked with them today. He is selling the tractors at or near cost to avoid Indiana's Inventory Tax. Even thought Kubota is taking the remaining inventory back after he closes, he won't be able to get them sent back before he has to pay the tax on March 1. Also, I wouldn't be afraid of warranty issues as MacAllister is opening a new Kubota store in Lafayette soon and will take any work they can get when they open. Anyone out there looking for good deals on L3010 he has 1 HST and 2 GST's. Also, B7500, 2410, BX2200, and several larger ones. His pricing was very very good. ....
