I had my 4500 delivered last week. Wife was out of town all week so I had babysitting duties, which doesn't coincide with tractor duties. When sh returned home I went to the garage to take out the new machine and do some chores. I checked all fluid levels and the tranny fluid was not registering. I went to the dealer somewhat upset and he gave me 2 gallons of fluid and said he wanted to be sure I didn't have to make 2 trips. It took the 2 gallons and it is at the bottom of the dipstick, needing more. My concern is where could it have gone??? The machine had been loaned out to two community affairs and has 16 hours on it. Any ideas??? Thanks for the help.

Even if the oil was topped up after charging some cylinders, it's fairly common practice to retract all cylinders before checking the oil level or the level may seem to go up or down every time it's checked. On most modern compacts, one oil reservoir feeds all hydraulics including PS as well as the HST or manual TX. Only the front axles on 4wd tractors have separate oil reservoirs. ....
