I noticed a crack in the cowling on my TC29 today. Upon inspection, the mounting flange on the right hand side that bolts to the "firewall" is broken off, and the crack is spreading toward the instrument panel. Anybody else had a problem like this? It almost has to be a vibration crack; nothing has ever hit near there on the tractor. Wonder if warranty will cover it?Bill

How old is the tractor? I believe the warranty covers a year B to B. What I noticed on mine was poor assembly of a good machine, and some damage caused by careless mechanics. The panels seem durable when positioned properly and not abused by poor assemble techniques. Good luck. ....

Bill, I had the exact same crack on mine. It was caused by the mounting bolt being overtorqued, which tore out the threaded insert. The warranty covered it. Another thing to check on is whether the air cleaner bracket (and also the power steering reservoir) interfers with the hood. I had this problem on mine also, and it resulted in another piece of cracked fiberglass. I had to modify the bracket to provide clearance. -JeffB ....

The tractor is almost a year old. It looks like the crack starts around the top right hand bolt hole and runs both ways; probably over-tightening. Thanks for the responses; I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow.

The dealer said that warranty will cover it. Since he is 2 hours away, it is better for both of us if I install it myself; I'm in the middle of firewood season and really don't want to be without the tractor.
Jeff, I remember when the bracket contacting the hood topic was being discussed; I checked at that time and couldn't see any signs of it on my tractor. I'll probably check again just to be sure.
Thanks,
Bill ....
