Well I am in the final stages of "buying" with my JD dealer So far the wish list contains a 4300 sync w/ 430 loader and I'm looking to add a 48 hoe and a McMillen Hydro earth auger. I could use some prices on a 48 hoe or even the 47 to get close anyway and some comments on what size Auger comes in most handy for general purpose post hole digging...I was thinking maybe a 9 inch and a 6 inch but am open to suggestionsRich

I paid $6150. for a 47 JD backhoe on my 4300. The dealer said a 48 was toolarge for a 4300, but would be ok on a 4400 or 4500.On the auger I haveboth 6&9 inch, but I use the 6 in. most often. ....

I paid $6,700 for my 48 but I have it on a 4600 I think the 48 is to large for the 4300 you might want to check it out for sure. Also with the backhoe one needs the power beyond kit for it another couple $100 for it I do believe. ....

When I ordered mine, the dealer asked whether I wanted the 47 or 48. The JD web site also list both for the 4300.Doug ....

got about 80 hrs on my 4300 with a 48 backhoe.I am in love with both tractor and backhoe.I don't find the 48 to large at all. usually run it about 1/4 trottle1/2 at the most.mike ....

We bought a 4300 w/syncreverser and model 47 hoe. Paid 5300 for hoe with a 13" bucket. so far it has done everything we needed to do. If it won't will have to rent a bigger machine. ....
