I need to drive 140 miles tomorrow to pick up a bx1850 with loader,. mower and grass bagger. Will it work to rent a truck? can get a 16' box truck with ramps, cargo space 16' long, 7.5' wide, 7' high 8000lb max seems like it will work fine.
or a cargo van length 9'2" width 4'3", height 4' 1500lb max. which would be easier to drive, but too tight a fit?

Your bx 1850 with all the attachments won't weigh much over a ton, so the truck will easily handle the load.
The biggest concern is getting it loaded and unloaded safely. Take your time while loading it, give the ramps a second look before you drive up them.
The 1800 lb trailer would be pushing it a bit, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that system.
Be sure to have the tractor and other equipment fastened down securely in the truck with straps or chains with load binders.
Frank.

I agree; the details are in the on-and-off. My experience in renting trucks is that the rate seems OK but the extras savage you.
A good double-axle trailer would be my second choice, especially if I had a suitable tow vehicle. Check that you'll be properly insured and that you have proper tie-downs, brake connector, and safety chains.
My first choice would be a lawn-care guy who's not busy yet, with equipment to transport a CUT.

Thanks, good advice. I called around and did get someone who is experienced transporting equipment. A much better solution, and not that more expensive when I considered the rental costs. ....

You presumably have it by now. Final suggestions: find your nearest dealer and order a few years' worth of filters plus a service manual. And I'm sure there's a site for Kubota Owners Club or somesuch where you can get help.
Good luck and lots of fun with it. ....
