This gator has had one previous electrical problem with the cooling fan not comming on. I tracked back to what I think was the problem...the thermastat. I wired directly to a switch and intend to buy a new one. A few weeks later it didn't crank and I tracked it to the fuelpump not comming on when the switch is on. I +/- directly into the fuel pump which pumps great and makes the gator runs fine.
The yellow and black wires leaving the fuel pump, both come out of the harness (under the dash) each into a gang of yellow and black wires. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the cooling fan problem is really the thermastat or simular to this. Anybody want to take a shot at this?? (before along, I can throw away the key and fire it up with the shortcut switches on the dash!)

Have you tested to see if the switch itself was letting the current through when switched on? Did you check fuses? Look for loose connections? Is it possibly you had a chemical sprayed on connections corroding them?

Not sure if the switches you are adding is any less secure then JD key is. kt ....
