I bought a used 970 that has 1200 hours. Everything works fine except it will jump out of 1st gear. What are the common problems and what would be the fix?

Does your shifter use linkage if so my best guess is it is not adjusted correctly, worn enough to allow full shift or bent to prevent full shit or there is a stick or other trash preventing full shift. kt ....
