I have 5 acres to bush hog, moderately steep in places, and a driveway to scrape. I found a MF 1120 for $4200, 500 hrs, advertised as in excellent condition.
Is this a good tractor? Is $4200 a good price?
This would be my first tractor. Thanks for any help.

Davidbham,
TractorData.com shows the 1120 as having 4-wheel drive. If the tractor you're looking at is a 4x4, that's a fair price. Actually, I think it's a pretty good deal.
I don't know anything about Massey Ferguson tractors. I can't tell you if it's a good one or not. However, since it has 500 hours on it, I'd say that it's been working just fine. And the Izusu engine is certainly a good one.
Before purchasing it, I'd do some looking around on the net to see if there might be any problem with getting replacement parts.
And since this would be your first tractor, please take the time to look up the tractor safety rules. Believe me.....you'll be glad you did.
See the link below.
Wish you luck with the tractor shopping. Stop in if you have any questions.

Thanks for the input.
Has anyone had experience with this model or a MF model similar?
I found no reviews online on the 1120. The owner says it's great. I can ask the local MF dealer, but I hoped for input about user experience.
Thanks again, David ....

I'm not the big tractor expert but here's my .02 - I had a hard time finding a picture of it on Google which tells me it wasn't very popular and parts may be a problem. That's not to say it isn't built well - I really don't know. You won't run a very big mower with 16 HP so this may be too small for 5 acres.
I'd like to have a 4WD subcompact that size for mowing a hilly section of yard. I'd get something more mainstream like JD, NH, KB which would of course cost more. I'd buy a good used one, run it till the wheels fell off, rebuild it and run it some more - long term parts supply would be important to me. ....
