Just curious if anyone else finds it odd that the bx series ( I have a bx2200) doesn't have a tach but it has 2 PTO's?
How are you supposed to judge you are at the correct RPM for the 540 rear or mid PTO? I have the books and they make no mention of it.
I've been running the machine wide open when doing heavy loader work or running a rear 3 point finish mower and lower it down a bit for mild/ normal operation of spreading mulch or light rake work.
Just kind of strange as they cut no corners making these great machines they didn't put a tach on it. My Scag mower with a 14 hp Kawasaki has a tach but my Kubota doesn't.

I couldn't agree more. I wish there was a retro fit analog tach, or even a bar graph electronic tach. I don't care for the number only "Mini Tach".
Got some new pics to put up with the box blade on. There is nothing that little guy can't do! ....

There are fairly inexpensive after-market tachs that use injector line puses for their input. I think Mark has one. ....

Kubota gives you an engine temp gauge and no tach. Comparable Deere's give you a tach but on temp gauge.
I guess there is only so much room on those tiny dash boards.
I have a Tiny Tach on my RTV. It was pretty easy to install and not hard to use. It sure helped me figure out how to run that complicated little critter the right way. ....
