The flashers on my little tractor have not worker since I got it. Yesterday I thought I would check the wiring. I cleaned and replaced a few ends. I didn't do anything to the flashers. I must have left the switch on because last night a 3.30 am there is a flashing light in my window. I got up to look thinking it was the police of something. I was still fuzzy from getting up. I looked out and both of the rear flashers were working. I went out and turned the switch off. I had tried to turn them of several times before and nothing. If I turn them on now nothing. Just a one time middle of the night haunted trick. Maybe the B stands for boo! 7200

I would be thinking the switch is bad. Did you test it?

I have lived with the Poltergeists for a long time ~ but that is another story!
You may have a bad switch as Peters pointed out, or a bad flasher unit / relay, that may be abit lazy. Bear in mind that these units have a mechanical relay as opposed to solid state. Contacts crapped up over time, moisture, whatever will have a toll on these things.
On my B5200, I was driving along a little while ago, in the dead of night plowing, with the overheads (cab lights) and the flashers on. I suddenly realized that it became extremely orange in the cab ~ even more so than just the glow of the paint being illuminated. It seemed as if the rear end was ablaze - only to realize that the flasher relay was stuck in the "on" mode. Usually it is kept in the garage, but other winter projects forced the old girl outdoors for a while this winter past. Then the moisture found the relay and.....ta-da.
If it does not get used often enough, the unit will act up. Perhaps you can make use of them more often, and see what happens. Just be warned, if you wake up some night and the flashes are blue and red rather than orange.....grab your gear and hide in the cellar!

Well your guys were right. I crosses the wires at the switch and flasher presto. I took the switch out and worked it on and off with a meter on it. After a few dozen cycles it worked fine. I just took the dog for a walk and tried it and it worked great. ....
