I have acquired a Hinomoto MB 1500 and want to know if there was ever a grass-cutting attachment for this tractor, as the wierd two shaft PTO will not power an ordinary deck. I have a small plough and rotovator, but desparately need to cut my grass! Also, does anybody know the years that this model was manufactured, it was retailed in France.

I don't know if it has a 3ph or anything about the tractor.
I'm thinking that if it has a rear pto and depending on how weird the pto shaft is, there are adapters for some of the less standard pto output shafts to standard pto shafts. If that's the case then a generic 3ph mower might be adapted fairly easily. Even if it doesn't have a 3ph, it may have a drawbar that can be extended and then a pull type mower might work.
If it has a mid pto only, the main alternative likely would be to find a MMM made for the tractor. Other choices such as custom mid to rear adapters or maybe a hydraulic motor driven mower don't seem too realistic but they might be interesting to try as a hobby. Probably wouldn't get the lawn mowed this year though. I don't know if any ground driven mowers are around, but maybe that's a last ditch alternative. ....

Thank you Tom. It does have a 3ph, so a "gang mower" is an option. The pto is a foot long rectangular casing with two splined shafts coming out at 90 degrees at the top end. The casing can be lowered, with rotovators fixed to each side for rotovation. The power is taken from the engine via belts to the bottom end of the casing, which has its fixing pivot between the 3ph arms. It all looks strange, I am only used, in a limited way, to a single splined shaft protruding form the back end of a tractor. ....

It sure does sound like a tractor designed for its own attachments. From the description it's seems like the axis of the output shafts are a plane to drive reel mowers and tillers, and I guess you have a tiller.
If a mower for the tractor exists it likely would be a reel type and I'd guess it's be easiest to adapt a reel type. If the head of the pto output shaft mounts were symmetrical, the head might be rotated 90-degrees, which would put the output in a plane for driving a belt driven rotary mower, but likely would cause a lubrication problem. Anyway, this is just flight of fancy thinking and I doubt it'd lead to a realistic design for adapting a mower to the tractor. The sort of reel mowers that used to be towed behind jeeps for mowing parks and golf courses seems more realistic.

In the years before my first tractor I pulled a gang of three ex-golf-course Toro ground-drive reel mowers behind a fat-tired Jeep. Other than the bother of getting them professionally sharpened every year, they were trouble-free. ....
