I saw a JD 52 loader for sale recently. Does anyone know if I can mount this on my JD 855? How 'bout specs(lift capacity etc.)? It has a 54" bucket and is in pretty good shape. What's it worth? Thanks.Roger.

My manual for the 52 loader gives specs for the 655, 755, and 855 so I believe you will be all set. Sorry, I do not know the value, Good luck ....

Roger, check that the frame-mount hardware kit is the same or adaptable to the machine (dealer should be able to look it up) you want to put it on, otherwise you may be spending any potential savings on factory-dealer-priced hardware to make it fit your machine. Best of luck. ....

Roger;
If your 855 has the cross member just forward and below where you place your feet the #52 loader will hookup fine. You will also need the dual selective control valve (dscv). My manuel says the loader is for the 7 & 855.
Specifications:
Rated lift Capacity (ASAE) 700 lb
Rated Breakout Capacity 1300 lb
Struck Capacity 54" bucket 6.54 ft to the 3rd power
Weight 445 lb
Used Loader in good condition is worth about $1k

Thanks for your help. It seems the 52 loader is very close to the 70A specs. The dealer wanted $1650.00 for the 52 including the mounting hardware(I already have the valve). I'm sure there's some wiggle room on that price. I'm going to call some JD dealers to get hardware mounting kit prices.
Thanks again,
Roger. ....

I had a 52 loader on my first 855 (purchased new in 1986). The 52 loader has turnbuckle clamp arrangement for attaching to the 4" tube that runs through the frame of the tractor. This is different fron the latching mechanism found on the 70A. It is a good loader it just doesn't attach or detach as quickly as the 70A. I had a 70A loader on a the last 855 I owned. Attaching the 52 loader requires a level surface more so than the 70A. ....
