Hi All,

I'm considering buying a Ford 1300 from a dealer. Trouble is the engine seems quite loud with knocking noise.

Dealer assures me it is because it is only a twin cylinder engine. I did notice other fords of this era seem to have a simular sound.

Also would this unit have enough power to run a pto snoblower 51"?

Any feedback from you guys?

My 1300 Ford and it is loud on start up. I've had the tractor for six years now and it still sounds the same. I run a 60 inch King Kutter finish mower and I use a 60 inch Allied snowblower. It handles it fairly decently. When in deep snow I run in the slowest gear, but most of the time I run in the second reverse setting. I have a 350 feet long driveway and a 40 by 40 turnaround. I live in northwestern PA and I am in the snow belt and usually get over 100 inches of snow a season. I would think that a 1300 ford would handle that size snowblower easily.

I forgot to say that I've got turf tires and use chains. I had to make spacers for the wheels so that the chains would clear the fenders.
