My ancient(don't know what year) AMT626 stops moving when hot. Engine runs fine but wont go forward after it warms up. Don't know where to start looking. I already drained and refilled transmission fluid with correct fluid. Didn't fix it. Looking for suggestion, please.

Next time you get it hot take the clutch guard off the motor, put it in neutral, and rev the motor and see if the clutches are operating properly. Belt should move out on the motor clutch and move in on the transaxle clutch as rpms increase. Sounds like the motor clutch may be locking up. ....

Finally got the motor clutch replaced. Ran beautifully for 1/4 mile. Once it warmed up though- exactly the same. It was put in by expert mechanic and seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. Help. ....

What is exactly the same??? You need to describe exactly what is happening when it won't move. When it won't move do the clutches shift like they are supposed to. Will they shift in neutral? Does the belt slip? Does the front clutch try to close? If the back clutch is turning is the shaft that it's on turning with it? Is there any noise that is audible? Can you push it by hand? ....
